We’re seeking a part-time Dog Groomer (Trimmer) to support our growing haircut business at our Scenthound franchise location. This role is ideal for a groomer who enjoys beautiful, simple, and functional haircuts, works efficiently, and thrives in a team-focused, ego-free environment.

At Scenthound, grooming is about health, safety, and consistency—not breed-specific styling. Our trims are clean, polished, and practical, allowing dogs to feel comfortable while maintaining a high standard of care.

Part-time role: 15–25 hours per week

Focused exclusively on puppy cuts (one-length all over with a neat face) and functional trims

Our Dog Groomer (Trimmer) is a key part of the Scenter team, providing safe, efficient grooming services while supporting overall operations

    What You’ll Do

Perform functional, one-length puppy cuts that are clean, consistent, and well-executed to our Scenthound standards

Complete haircuts safely and confidently within 1 hour per dog

Handle a high-volume schedule (approximately haircuts per day)

Perform basic hygiene services as needed

Maintain a safe, calm environment for dogs of all temperaments

Support teammates to keep the Scenter running on schedule

Follow all Scenthound safety, sanitation, and cleaning protocols

Communicate effectively with team members and dog parents

Perform other duties as assigned by the Scenter Manager

    What We’re Looking For

1+ year of grooming experience or graduation from a grooming school

Must be reliable and have reliable transportation

Experience with puppy cuts and comfort following established protocols

Knowledge of dog handling, grooming tools, and basic breed characteristics

Strong time-management skills and ability to work efficiently without rushing

Calm, patient, and compassionate with dogs of all sizes and temperaments

Team-oriented, coachable, and willing to help where needed

No ego — we value collaboration, consistency, and care above all else

Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for extended periods

    Reliable transportation

Willingness to work in a smoke-free environment

    A genuine love for dogs

    Skills & Abilities

    Excellent communication

    Attention to detail

    Problem-solving and adaptability

    Strong organizational and time-management skills

Ability to self-critique and uphold high standards of cleanliness and animal handling

    Benefits & Perks

Competitive hourly base pay plus tips

    Merit-based pay increases

Clear growth opportunities within the Scenter

Complimentary services for your own pup

Perfect for someone seeking career growth, a team-first culture, a dog-first philosophy, and a modern, clean work environment.
