As a dog handler in wildlife management, specifically Canada geese, you will be expected to use/work one of our highly trained Border Collies to safely haze geese off a variety of client properties. You will travel several hundred miles per day in a company vehicle; established routes are dependent on the area. Shifts vary and it could be very early morning start times or later evening end times; this is dependent on geese activity. Outdoor work in all types of weather conditions along with kayak work on ponds or lakes is the norm. Servicing industrial centers, warehouses, educational facilities, and residential properties will require a clean background check.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting in humane goose control
Maintaining equipment used in operations
Keep documents and equipment organized
Provide excellent customer service
Requirements:
Passion for humane treatment of dogs, wildlife and nature
Strong communication skills
Team player but able to work independently
Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Reliable transportation to the dispatch location, central Greensboro
Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends fand some holidays for the duration of the job not just in the beginning
Ability to obtain a NC Wildlife Technician Certification, online test that GM pays for
