Blue Water Pet Care is looking for a hardworking, reliable team member to join our staff as a Dog Daycare, Cleaning & Grooming Assistant. This is a fast-paced, physical job where you’ll care for dogs in group play, help keep the facility spotless, and assist with basic grooming services. Key Responsibilities:
Dog Supervision & Handling:
Monitor dogs in group play for safety and appropriate behavior
Redirect high-energy or reactive dogs when needed
Rotate dogs in and out of daycare and boarding areas
Provide water, meals, and potty breaks as assigned
Cleaning & Facility Upkeep:
Deep clean and sanitize play areas, kennels, floors, toys, bowls, and crates
Sweep, mop, do laundry, and keep all areas organized and presentable
Pick up waste and dispose of it properly throughout the day
Follow checklists and protocols to maintain a clean, safe environment
Grooming Assistance (Training Provided):
Bathe dogs using proper techniques and shampoos
Towel dry or blow-dry dogs depending on coat type
Trim nails and clean ears as needed
Brush out coats and prepare dogs to go home clean and fresh
Comfort and safely handle dogs who may be nervous during grooming
Team Support & Client Interaction:
Communicate with other staff and follow manager instructions
Greet clients with a friendly attitude during drop-offs and pick-ups
Help with check-in/check-out and reporting any issues with dogs
Requirements:
Must be 18+ years old
Physically able to lift 50 lbs, walk/stand for long periods, and work in all weather
Willing to work weekends and holidays as needed
Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
Strong work ethic — dependable, focused, and detail-oriented
Team player who takes direction well and stays productive
Willing to learn grooming basics (experience is a plus but not required)
Must be okay with getting wet, dirty, or slobbered on — a lot!
