    This role is with the Dole Fresh Vegetables (DFV) division.  DFV will provide INTERNAL CANDIDATES priority and consideration of their success in existing and prior roles as valid experience.

     

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

     

    The Planning Manager will work with the team in collaborative planning and replenishment within our internal Dole team as well as connect the customer demand throughout the item life cycle in the supply chain. The role will manage master scheduling planning activities that pertain to finished goods that are supplied by west coast operations and 3rd parties. This role will influence the replenishment plan based on customer forecast, work to maximize manufacturing efficiency, execute during events, and lead the customer supply relationship to deliver service goals. 

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

    • Accountable for people management related activities such as performance evaluations, succession planning, goal setting, and personal development of direct reports.
    • Responsible for continuous improvements impacting supply replenishment.
    • Deep understanding of Dole’s systems to align with external drivers to identify replenishment opportunities with keen focus on item life cycle events.
    • Collaborate across multiple departments (i.e. planning, manufacturing, sales, purchasing, raw materials, finance, transportation) to drive results, reduce waste, maximize efficiencies, and reduce cost across the supply chain.
    • Assist in development of special work around plans and schedules including unforeseen events (raw material supply, labor, government interventions, weather, mechanical, etc.).
    • Ownership of KPIs, including customer order fill rate, finished good inventory levels, and finished good disposals at Dole warehouses, etc.
    • Building relationships with internal contacts including Operations, Sales teams, Demand Planning, Business Planning, Purchasing, Finance and other functions when required.
    • Monitoring and communicating of west inventory challenges including impact to customer fill rate.
    • Provide critical and analytical skills that significantly enhance our service standards including the ability to manage and optimize components such as current inventory, forecast, knowledge of product movement and replenishment.
    • Point person for manufacturing planning team in the absence of the Senior Director of Planning.
    • Back up coverage as needed for direct reports and director.
    • Assist in administration of west copackers of finished goods including creation and approval of Purchase Orders.
    • Actively involved in the implementation of formal training, as needed for team members related to cross-functional team development and related procedures.
    • Follow all Food Safety Requirements and GMPs as applicable to position.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

     

     

    Required Skills

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

     

    • 1-3 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management or equivalent required.
    • Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel, required.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Proven ability to structure and conduct supply chain analyses.
    • The position needs to display excellent analytical judgment in determining trends & root causes and leading to actionable and proactive recommendations.
    • Ability to work autonomously and lead initiatives is necessary.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    •  Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 pounds; Able to occasionally work in a cold environment.  Position may require sitting for long periods of time and extended periods of travel.

     

    WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Need to be able to assist in problem solving beyond normal business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business requires.

     

     

    Required Experience

     

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other closely related field of study preferred.
    • Certifications in Supply Chain (APICS or similar), Project Management (PMP), or Lean 6 Sigma preferred.

     

    PAY RATE:

    • $100,000 - $110,000
