  • Responsibilities

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

    Dole facilities get audited by internal and external resources periodically to ensure compliance with Dole policies, applicable regulatory standards, GFSI, and customer requirements. Opportunities and corrective actions come out of these audits to strengthen Dole programs. Currently, there is no formal program to trend opportunities sited by these audits, or to mirror observations between facilities. The intern will work on creating a platform that allows real time auditing and trending of opportunities into various categories. The trending report shall help the management team to prioritize opportunities to critical observations within our processing environment.

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

    • Have a thorough understanding of Auditing and Corrective Action Process
    • Create a new system that allows real time auditing
    • Track, trend (measure), and report functionality of audit observations
    • Understand current systems for tracking and observation comparison
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    INTERNSHIP TYPE

    • 2021 12-week summer internship.
    • Paid internship.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, identify and distinguish colors, and work in a cold environment (35* on Plant floor).
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.

     

     WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT

    • 40-hour workweek, no overtime expected

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

    • Fall 2021 Junior or Senior majoring in Food Science, Microbiology, Agribusiness or related field.
