    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

    The Creative Project Designer creates conceptual and/or production ready digital and print artwork and routes, reviews, and approves artwork from Dole divisions and external partners. This role will focus primarily on concepting, production packaging jobs, website asset development, sales material, trade ads, promotions, etc. for assigned divisions, projects, or customers.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

    • Ensures all artwork adheres to Dole Brand Guidelines and proofreads all artwork to deliver accurate products.
    • Responsible for creating production ready artwork to submit to separators and printers.
    • Oversees creative projects by creating project plans in a project tracking software, routing and assigning tasks to appropriate individuals, and approving & uploading final art.
    • Responsible for digital, hard copy, and on press approvals.
    • Tracks all assigned creative projects through all phases and ensures all communication reaches appropriate stakeholders in a timely and organized manner.
    • Collaborates closely with other professionals, internal and external, to deliver assigned design initiatives.
    • Creates concepts for new package designs and updates existing package designs according to customer.
    • Develops concepts and delivers final creative for marketing promotions.
    • Creates images and edits, resizes, retouches, etc. for website(s) and social platforms.
    • Updates and sends images used on Dole.com to developer for upload. Ensures all website imagery is always correct.
    • Contributes to updating Dole Brand Guidelines as needed.
    • Reviews and approves artwork from third party and licensee partners.
    • Creates and delivers trade, sponsorship, and consumer ads in print and/or digital formats.
    • Creates concepts for promotional materials and develops concepts for merchandising graphics.
    • Creates and maintains product overviews, sales materials, power point graphics.
    • Reviews and approves created photography and 3D imagery.
    • Compares artwork against pantone color chips for matching and approval.
    • Creates and maintains internal wall and lobby artwork for offices and facilities.
    • Tracks time spent on projects for each division using an independent time tracking system to allocate resources and hours to Dole divisions.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS)

    • 3+ years’ experience in graphic design related field required.
    • Prior experience managing projects highly desired.
    • Understanding of routing and approval systems, archiving, color management, flexography and knowledge of pre-press, the printing process, and packaging materials required.
    • Ability to create basic digital product mock-ups.
    • Expert in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign (Creative Suite)
    • Expert use of MAC
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Highly creative with high attention to detail is mandatory.
    • High level of motivation and ability to work under pressure with short deadlines.
    • Proven ability to anticipate problems, understand root causes and provide solutions.
    • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish.
    • Able to self-manage (work independently) and meet agreed upon deadlines and budgets.
    • Must be very strong team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Resourceful with strong organizational skills.

    BA/BS in Graphic Design or related field preferred, equivalent work experience accepted.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones and utilize a variety of office equipment.  Ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. and reach overhead.  Ability to identify colors and color hues accurately.

    WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT

    Minimal travel, domestic and international, no more than 15% of the time.
