    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

     The Learning Management System Manager provides technical leadership in the implementation and support of the Learning Management System (LMS). This position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of content, assets, and other resources used for instructional functions while overseeing the installation of all system updates and upgrades, as well as tools and software integrated with the LMS. In addition, the LMS Manager will develop, facilitate and supervise training programs for employees.

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

    • Leads/Implements a company-wide Learning Management System which provides training and development to employees; Ensures effective implementation and maximizes features and functionality of LMS technology.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders across various functions to identify functional and system requirements and success criteria while helping drive cross-functional alignment.
    • Manage competing requirements across business functions and establish project direction with functional leaders.
    • Partner with LMS vendor’s implementation team to successfully implement enterprise Learning Management System
    • Routinely identify, assess, and develop mitigation plans for events that could impact the success of the program. Build in mitigation plans anticipating dependencies and risks, actively replan with stakeholders and implementation teams, and reset expectations throughout project delivery.
    • Analyze and recommend solutions to utilize the LMS to deliver, track and measure training to meet organizational objectives.
    • Identify project/program bottlenecks and proactively communicates and monitors resolution.
    • Communicate project progress by a variety of mediums: leading status meetings, email/Teams communications, and developing project presentations.
    • Drives program and project deliverables, provides strategic direction, escalation management, and deliver regular communications to program stakeholders.
    • Develop and document systems, with appropriate workflows and approvals to ensure published content is accurate and current, and users have correct access based on their role and needs.
    • Manages content, courses, curriculum, and programs within the LMS.
    • Works with SMEs and content creators to maintain and update content according to established guidelines.
    • Creates and maintains Learning Plans, and user groups for all supported functional areas and assigns them accordingly.
    • Establish standard procedures and ensure traceability of all training records “on demand” (eg. classes completed, test results, certificates, instructors, dates).
    • Provides end-user troubleshooting, issue remediation, technology request assistance and escalation management. Monitors reoccurring issues, system/data or process gaps and proactively identify potential sources of increased efficiency and enhancements
    • Administers measurement and reporting in alignment with learning objectives; publish clear monthly metrics and maintain audit-ready status.
    • Ensures that our user experience design keeps the learner at the heart of the platform.
    • Define and monitor metrics that measure the success of the program.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

     

    Required Skills

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

    • Five or more years of experience in LMS design and program management
    • Experience in leading an LMS migration/implementation
    • Deep subject matter expertise in enablement/Education functions and knowledge of LMS taxonomy
    • Proven ability to manage a project and conduct cross functional meetings
    • Experience working with business, IT and HR stakeholders to deliver on learning priorities.
    • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and ability to perform effectively in a fast-faced environment.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills to both frontline and executive audiences
    • Ability to translate concepts, summarize, and communicate complex ideas in a simple and straight-forward fashion
    • Proven experience managing multiple, high-impact priorities simultaneously, with minimal supervision
    • Ability to embrace, pivot, and shift focus based on changing priorities and/or the business environment and champion innovative ideas
    • Professionalism, positivity, and strong work ethic with a high level of integrity and teamwork
    • Strong analytical, organizational planning skills and understanding of program management concepts
    • Effective and creative in solving problems with an ability to identify issues and resolve, or identify the internal resources needed to assist
    • Attention to detail – the ability to work with a large amount of content and ability to consolidate and simplify to drive clarity

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 15 lbs.

    WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to work beyond regular business hours as business needs require.
    • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time (up to 25% travel during implementation).

     

     

    Required Experience

     

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree required, in Computer Science, Human Resources, or Instructional Design preferred.
