    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

     

    To act as a liaison with all regional offices and product specialists to coordinate and expedite product for shipment from all Dole Fresh Vegetables facilities.

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

     

    • Track and trace of Dole’s IB and OB loads for a Logistics operation, Plants, Warehouses, and Customers
    • Other duties and projects as assigned by Logistics Supervisor and/or Management
    • Employees adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP’s related to producing and distributing safe quality food (SQF’s)
    • Has the responsibility and authority to report any problems pertaining to food safety and quality to his/her Supervisor
    • Facilitate and support load expediting as required to support business and customer needs
    • Provide daily/weekly reporting of transportation activities and KPIs to DFV stakeholders, Customer, Suppliers
    • Provide contracted carriers freight invoice first level approval/reconciliation through research and review of freight transactions and contracted costs
    • Communicate to Suppliers on freight invoice and payment items
    • Communicate and provide assigned reports to business stakeholders in a timely manner
    • Keep business partners, customers, suppliers, informed of key issues and resolution activities related to transportation service exceptions
    • Support, communicate, resolve OSDs working with internal business partners, Suppliers, Customers
    • Work with Transportation Planners and Dole Operations to support load scheduling, appointments, expedite situations, and issue resolution
    • Support Logistics Management and Planners with securing transportation capacity, load tendering, and issue resolution as required
    • Utilize DFV business systems daily to effectively meet responsibilities of the position

     

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS)

     

    • 2-3 years recent, verifiable experience as a Transportation or Logistics Coordinator / Specialist, or position in Supply Chain functions in a high volume (Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving, Logistics, Customer Service) consumer package goods or food company
    • Must have demonstrated knowledge of transportation functions and processes to include freight track and trace, in transit management / problem solving, reporting/resolution on OSDs, freight invoice audit/review of costs and accessorials, creating and issuing daily/weekly reports on transportation activities and service.
    • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of FTL/LTL trucking operations, activities, transactions
    • Cold Chain and temperature control transportation experience a significant plus
    • Knowledge and experience of IB and OB transportation operations / activity to support Plant/Manufacturing operations and multi-facility Distribution to Customers
    • Demonstrated experience in fresh/perishable supply chains preferred
    • Effective communicator, both written and verbally
    • Problem solving and resolution skills in varied situations
    • Ability to demonstrate good judgement in deciding how to handle work-related situations
    • Ability to work under pressure, deliver to timelines, and with urgency as required
    • Capable of working independently with minimal direction
    • Team player and proven ability to work in a collaborative, cross functional environment
    • Computer experience and proficiency necessary with (Microsoft Windows / Office programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and demonstrated experience working with various business systems.
    • Experience with web and/or cloud-based Logistics or Transportation Management Systems a strong plus

    WORK HOUR REQUIREMENTS

     

    • Shift: 1st shift 6 or 7am – 3 or 4pm (start times may vary to meet business need)
    • Shifts: M-F, Tu-Sa, W-Su (shifts may vary to meet business need)
    • Overtime and Holiday shifts as business requires
    • Participate in Logistics weekend rotational support (SAT and SUN shifts as required)
