  • Responsibilities

    THE ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT ANALYST SUPPORTS THE RISK MANAGER IN EXECUTING THE ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT (ERM) PROGRAM AND INSURANCE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM.  THIS INCLUDES PROVIDING ASSISTANCE FOR THE PROCESSES OF MEASURING, MONITORING, AND CONTROLLING ENTERPRISE RISK.

    • Working cross functionally with business partners throughout WPCU to conduct RCSAs and other risk assessment for WPCU programs, products, and strategic initiatives. (30%)
    • Conducting project risk assessments to ensure that projects align with WPCU strategic initiatives and assessing the potential impact new products have on WPCU operations and overall risk profile. (10%)
    • Working with the Risk Manager to analyze key risk indicators, and residual risk exposure to assist in the development ERM reports and monitor trends; (5 %)
    • Creating and contributing to formal reporting on the state of risks to business line senior management including presenting dashboards and analysis from RCSAs and project risk assessments. (15%)
    • Contribute to the preparation of risk dashboards, and reports for Risk Committees. Assist the Risk Manager in documenting the meeting minutes of Risk Committees and ensuring proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. (5%)
    • Support technology/systems that enable all ERM activities by overseeing user access administration, configuration, and maintenance. This includes the GRC platform Procipient. (5%)
    • Contribute to the facilitation of issue management administration, processing risk acceptance documentation, and maintaining the schedule of ERM activities. (10%)
    • Assist WPCU’s Risk Manager in maintaining enterprise insurance, which includes incident management, policy renewal and claims; (10%)
    • Draft ERM Policies and Procedures and ensuring WPCU risk management practices departmental procedures are thoroughly documented and up to date. (5 %)
    • Assist in other ad hoc ERM activities as needed. (5%)

    Required Skills

    THE ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT ANALYST MUST HAVE A THOROUGH KNOWLEDGE OF CREDIT UNION PRODUCTS, POLICIES, OPERATIONS, AND PROCEDURES AS EACH RELATES TO RISK MANAGEMENT. THE FOLLOWING IS ALSO REQUIRED:

     

    • A Master’s Degree in Business, Risk Management, or related discipline is required or a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Risk Management or related discipline and 2-3 years successful experience performing enterprise-wide risk management functions, risk assessments, or statistical/data analyses in a financial institution;
    • Strong knowledge of risk-based controls assessment and risk management methodologies is required;
    • Previous knowledge of Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) platforms, regulatory standards, and industry best practices;
    • Demonstrated ability to think critically and apply a balanced approach to risk assessment as it relates to strategic objectives, opportunities, and organizational projects;
    • Previous experience in credit union/bank/financial institution environments;
    • Previous experience performing risk assessments and documenting and testing internal controls is required;
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
    • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to monitor and prioritize multiple activities.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization and present complex concepts to a wide audience.
    • Ability to take initiative and create ways to make risk processes more efficient.
    • Project management skills. 
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, technical, and written communication skills.
