  • Responsibilities

     

    We’re seeking a Desktop Architect to help us transform our Digital Workplace.

    This position will be primarily focused on endpoint systems architecture and design regarding modern management of Windows 10 from operating system deployment to configuration and enforcement of policy through SCCM, Workspace One or Intune.

    The successful candidate will have deep knowledge and understanding of the available workplace technologies and will work with leadership and other key stakeholders to modernize, simplify, and enhance our End-user environment.

    Required Skills

     

    • Lead the Workplace transformation by defining and managing our technical landscape, technology strategy, and architecture for the End User Compute (EUC) environment.
    • Accountable for the delivery of desktop management best practices, developing and delivering agile methodologies for windows desktop and device management, and overall software distribution and support
    • Engage with End-users, other members of the IT team, IT Business Partners, and key Business Stakeholders to develop solution architecture and drive changes in workplace technology platforms that best fits the company needs and culture.
    • Design and build strategic roadmap for technology lifecycle and standards.
    • Build, test, and deploy desktop and laptop image profiles, and continually evaluate and advance deployment methodologies to maximize efficiency.
    • Provide architecture and engineering expertise for Microsoft SCCM, InTune, Desktop GPOs, and similar tools and products.
    • Optimize disparate processes among Desktop Management, Mobile Management, and Virtual Desktops to streamline a single Unified Endpoint Management Program
    • Interact with manufacturers and vendors to better understand device and service offerings and product limitations, and provide quantitative feedback and testing on new desktop management opportunities in the market place.

    Required Experience

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required
    • 7 years’ experience with Microsoft desktop operating systems and productivity applications (O365, Office, Excel, Word, OneDrive, etc.)
    • 7 years’ expertise in architecture and design of enterprise desktop deployments and processes especially for Windows 10.
    • 5 years’ experience with Microsoft Collaboration tools (SharePoint, Skype, Teams, etc.)
    • 5 years’ experience in building, managing and maintaining SCCM infrastructure and related systems management processes including OSD, software deployments, and configuration baseline implementation.
    • Experience with Windows 10 semi-annual servicing and updates, Enterprise features including security, BitLocker, Conditional Access, etc.
    • Experience with automated deployment methodologies (e.g. AutoPilot) and application packaging / distribution
    • Experience with Windows 10 analytics – Desktop Analytics, Upgrade Readiness, Telemetry, etc.
    • Knowledge of application virtualization solutions such as Microsoft Application Virtualization (SoftGrid/App-V), ThinApp and Symantec Virtualization.
    • Proficiency with scripting languages (PowerShell, VBScript and/or Python), multiple packaging / deployment applications, and distribution methods
    • Experience leading small to mid-sized projects

     

     

    EDUCATION

     

    • Bachelor's degree in CIS, MIS, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
    • Relevant professional certifications beneficial; MCSE, Citrix, ITIL, etc.
