  • Responsibilities

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

     

    Responsible for ensuring that all food quality processes support the company’s compliance with food safety standards. Support the FSQA Team and Production team in special projects.

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

     

    • Provide production support in all aspects of the Dole quality process Specifically Special projects, data collection and technical support.
    • Do quality checks including bag seal, oxygen level, proportions, bag weight, raw materials check, and finished goods check. All other projects enhancing and improvement of these checks.
    • Check equipment to verify accuracy Specifically leak tank technology.
    • Maintain reports and system log entries electronically.
    • Trouble shooting electronic database and leaker tank technology.
    • All other duties assigned by your Supervisor/Manager

     

     

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Previous experience in a food processing facility is preferred but not required

     

    SKILLS:

    • Strong oral, written communications skills required. Ability to access and send emails. Basic computer skills ability to access, manipulate software, trouble shoot. Word and excel and database experience preferred.
    • Operating systems (Windows and MacOS) ...
    • Office suites (MICROSOFT OFFICE, G Suite) ...
    • Presentation software (POWERPOINT, Keynote) ...
    • SPREADSHEETS(Excel, Google SPREADSHEETS, etc.) ...

    ADDITIONAL:

    • Hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. Required to work independently and with limited supervision. Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand, and follow posted work rules/ procedures. Must be flexible with the ability to work any shift as workload demands.

    INTERNAL: Supervisor, Lead, Production, Sanitation, Shipping, Receiving/Materials, Maintenance.

    EXTERNAL: Auditors

     

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

     

    High School Diploma or GED.

    EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT

     

    Must be able to work with minimal supervision. EE will be managed by FSQA supervisors and manager.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

     

    Work is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia is present.  Work surfaces and floors may be wet.  Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment.  Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs unassisted up to 1/3 of the workday, and 6 lbs overhead as job demands.  Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required.  Moving machinery, including conveyor and forklifts are in operation in the immediate area.   

     

    EQUIPMENT NEEDED

     

    • Two-way radio
    • Contura S400 Leak testing chamber
    • Tablet or Laptop

     

    WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT

     

    Ability to work overtime as needed. Some weekends are required.
