  • Responsibilities

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

    Responsible for equipment maintenance, repair and replace equipment for transplant productions equipment, parts order and inventory of parts and returns.  

    Required Skills

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

    Repair, replace and maintenance of equipment (70%)

    • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems and completing repairs to forklifts, company vehicles, and tractors.
    • Use welding equipment to make repairs i.e. arc welding, Mig welding (gas argon, carbon dioxide mix) copper gas welding and aluminum Mig welding.
    • Perform all levels of fabrication using press and welding technics to maintain existing equipment.
    • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
    • Proficient in diagnosing, troubleshooting and completing electrical repairs to electric powered equipment and machinery to include relays, single and triple phase motors and components and compressors.

    Parts order and inventory (30%)

    • Responsible for ordering parts for equipment repairs.
    • Responsible for keeping accurate and timely inventory of all parts ordered.
    • Responsible for returning parts and ensuring receipt of credit.

    Required Experience

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

    • Knowledge/skills/experience (required):
    • 5 years of maintenance mechanical experience in greenhouse equipment or farm equipment
    • 2 years of fabrication experience
    • 3 years of welding experience
    • 3 years of electrical experience with single and triple phase components
    • Bilingual a must
    • Driver’s license without restrictions

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

    • Required
      • High School diploma or GED.
    • Preferred
      • Mechanical certification(s)

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, stoop, kneel and sit; use hand handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear in loud environment. The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 50 lbs.
