    Job Description

    THIS POSITION WILL JOIN THE DOMINO’S CORPORATE ACCOUNTING TEAM FOR A 10-12 WEEK INTERNSHIP PROGRAM, BEGINNING MAY 30TH 2023.  THE ROLE WILL BE FULLY IMMERSED INTO THE DAY-TO-DAY OPERATION OF THE CORPORATE ACCOUNTING TEAM ALLOWING THE INCUMBENT TO PERFORM THE SAME JOB DUTIES AS A FULL-TIME DOMINO’S CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT.  THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTING FUNCTION AS WELL AS WITH MAJOR ERP FINANCIAL SYSTEMS, EXPOSURE TO INTERNAL CONTROLS, AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET WITH FINANCE LEADERSHIP INCLUDING THE CFO, AND TO JOIN AN INNOVATIVE GLOBAL BRAND THAT IS LISTED IN THE S&P 500.  THIS OPPORTUNITY MAY ALSO LEAD TO A FULL-TIME OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT UPON THE CANDIDATE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THEIR UNDERGRADUATE AND/OR MASTERS DEGREE.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

     

    PREPARE TIMELY AND ACCURATE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND SUPPLEMENTAL REPORTS FOR CERTAIN CORPORATE STORE AND/OR SUPPLY CHAIN CENTER BUSINESS UNITS

    • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and ensure completeness of the general ledger accounting data for certain corporate store markets and/or supply chain centers
    • Record period end accounting entries (e.g. accruals, adjustments, etc.)
    • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and certifications
    • Monitor account activity and notify management of unusual account activity, especially within key reserve accounts
    • Review P&L statements and identify the key drivers of variances to budget, prior year, and flash forecasting estimates
    • Coordinate with other accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, financial reporting, fixed assets, payroll, and tax to ensure that the general ledger is accurately stated
    • Maintain appropriate internal controls and adhere to Company policy and procedures.  Ensure there are no significant deficiencies or material weaknesses, as defined by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002
    • Provide internal customers with general ledgers, P&Ls, and financial summaries upon close of the financial period
    • Communicate with internal customers on outstanding accounting issues, problems, or concerns

     

    SPECIAL PROJECTS AS NEEDED

    • Assist internal customers with analysis of financial impact on certain projects and initiatives
    • Assist financial reporting with the review of quarterly financial reports
    • Assist with providing documentation for internal and external audit requests

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Pursuing Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • College junior or senior preferred
    • Prior internship and/or work experience not required
    • Ability to analyze financial information
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills
    • Self-Motivated and able to work independently
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and database applications

     

    INTERNSHIP STRUCTURE

     

    • 10-12 week program, intern preference, beginning May 30th
    • Hybrid work allowing for in-office experience (Tuesday – Thursday)
    • Fully immersed into the day to day of the Domino’s corporate accounting team
    • Exposure to and training on PeopleSoft Financials, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Blackline
    • Network with finance leadership team including CFO
    • Opportunity for full-time employment upon completion of internship and college degree
