    THE ROLE - CHARCUTERIE & CHEESE CLERK

    CHARCUTERIE & CHEESE CLERK– Are you destined to be the ambassadors of a vibrant menu of curated meats and cheeses where you hand select the best ingredients creating amazing plates and trays for guests to have a comprehensive palette of tastes from which to choose? You will support the Charcuterie and Cheese Manager and Charcuterie and Cheese Assistant Manager as you and a team of Cheesemongers create a culture to nurture passion for fantastic charcuterie and cheese through engaging hospitality providing the destination experience for our guests! As Charcuterie and Cheese Clerk, you will work beside a dynamic Charcuterie and Cheese team dedicated to delivering Talk of the Town Guest Service!  

    RESPONSIBILITIES - CHARCUTERIE & CHEESE CLERK

    Dom’s Kitchen & Market CHARCUTERIE AND CHEESE CLERK will work together in Charcuterie and Cheese and support the Charcuterie and Cheese Manager and Charcuterie and Cheese Assistant Manager with total Charcuterie/Cheese responsibility that merges your love for people – both team members and guests  – with operational excellence. You will be:

    • Measured and rewarded by your ability to deliver Talk of the Town Guest Service, drive optimal Charcuterie/Cheese teams’ performance and maintain Charcuterie/Cheese operations
    • Accountable for the extraordinary experience of your guests
    • Responsible for engaging conversations with guests discussing cheese and pairings and ensure each guest receives an extraordinary Talk of the Town guest experience
    • Focused on driving sales through technical expertise, fast paced momentum and innovative merchandising
    • Expected to successfully train and continue development of expertise to enhance the guest experience and be part of the first-class Charcuterie/Cheese team leading to inspired Charcuterie/Cheese teamwork creating an inviting atmosphere for guests
    • Challenged daily with Charcuterie/Cheese team to provide world class FRESH conditions and presentations including Quality of product, In-Stock, In-Code, product rotation, temperature checks, accurate labeling, scale accuracy
    • Expected to assist with work duties across the Charcuterie/Cheese department inclusive of prioritizing guest service, assist guests with locating product, breaking down deliveries, following recipes, cutting and wrapping of product, stocking tables and cases, building displays, cleaning, posting/monitoring shelf tags/signs for accuracy
    • Responsible for accurate disbursement of distressed product
    • Accountable for backroom and cooler logistics including minimal inventory levels, freshness dates and organization of product and supplies
    • Responsible that the high standards of Food Safety and Sanitation are maintained at all times throughout Charcuterie/Cheese sales floor, cooler and backroom including regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment, tables, cases and shelves with organization and sanitation of all backrooms, food prep areas and supplies
    • Listening for the Voice of the Guest to identify Charcuterie/Cheese department trends for guest needs and expectations and counsel with Charcuterie and Cheese Manager and Charcuterie and/ or Cheese Assistant Manager to integrate findings to deliver value and accelerate growth

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 1+ years’ experience in Charcuterie and Cheese retail, specialty store, restaurant or hospitality
    • 4 year college degree, culinary degree or equivalent experience
    • Food Safety Certification preferred
    • Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills
    • Strong cognitive skills
    • Advanced computer skills
    • Sense of urgency, time management, prioritization and multitasking skills
    • Detail oriented
    • Ability to maintain composure, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
    • Availability must reflect the needs of the business, which may change from time to time
    • Strong sense of team – desire to WIN together with a first-class team!
    • Full Time and Part Time available – Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Must be able to perform the following physical activities regularly: Walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions
    • Walking/Standing 90% and sitting 10% of day
    • Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas and/or products
    • Physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force often and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
    • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures – walk-in coolers and freezers
    • Exposure to chemicals and cleaning products
    • Operating equipment (baler, compactor, power jack, six wheeler, box cutter, cheese/meat cutting tools)
