_ About the Donor Family Engagement Associate_
The Donor Family Engagement Associate is responsible for assisting with the department’s sensitive and timely communications with donor families. DFE Associates create letters sent to donor families as well as engage donor families in person and by phone. DFE Associates will also provide guidance and support to families as they cope with their grief by providing written resources and sharing appropriate community resources as requested. Associates will plan and host donor family events to honor donors and their families.
Communicate with families of donors for two years past date of donation to show respect and gratitude for their loved ones’ gifts of life.
Obtains and interprets accurate information from DNA databases that often requires extensive research utilizing DNA staff and medical records. This often includes medical terminology.
Observes policies and procedures for maintaining anonymity.
Maintains and updates donor family database.
Identifies and investigates problems utilizing appropriate DNA staff and medical records.
Apprises supervisor and appropriate DNA staff of donor record errors, and inconsistencies.
Responsible for timely delivery of grief support resource requests.
Maintains supply of grief support resources, including pamphlets, newsletters, lists of community resources, and mailing supplies. Updates quarterly.
Apprises appropriate Community Engagement and Communications staff of any donor family interested in volunteering or sharing story with media.
Processes donor memorial cards.
Compiles and reviews donor family survey data and requests for grief support resources.
Enters survey responses into database. Tallies results and distributes to supervisor.
Notifies supervisor of responses requiring action.
Responds to requests from donor families for grief resources.
Assists with the Donor Family events to honor donors and their families.
Requirements
Minimum Education/Experience:
High School; some college or relevant life experience preferred
Administrative assistance in a health care or human service setting
Strong verbal and written communication
Experience with MS Word & Excel
Bilingual Spanish preferred
1-3 Years experience preferred
