ABOUT US:

Don’t Use This Code (DUTC) is looking for a committed, goal-driven technical sales and account manager to help with the growth of our business.

Since 2016, DUTC has provided consulting and training services to a wide variety of clients in different industries. These trainings have centered on open source software development, predominantly involving the PyData stack for scientific and numeric computing. DUTC’s training is unique among the many educational offerings available on the market in its concepts-first approach to material.

The sales executive will drive and inform our strategy across all stages of our sales funnel, including creating awareness of new offerings, generating and pursuing leads, conducting market research, determining what materials are needed for sales and promotion (to be provided by our creative/marketing team), managing outreach campaigns and more. 

The ideal candidate has experience in professional education or professional training-related sales, is up to date on trends in technical training and is energetic and highly creative when it comes to attracting new business. We are a young company in a stage of exciting growth; a high degree of independence and self-advocacy is critical for success in this role.  

NOTE: _This is a fully remote position open to candidates anywhere in the USA. We operate during standard business hours EST. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire position. _

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meet monthly and quarterly sales targets 

• Prospect and contact potential customers

• Meet with potential clients to determine their needs and recommend our services to match

• Develop client relationships; retain and grow existing accounts

• Drive existing sales campaigns, develop and execute innovative sales strategies

• Analyze sales outcomes to identify opportunities for growth or development

• Prepare promotional presentations, maintain sales records

• Attend and participate in regular team meetings

• Positively advocate for the business

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-5 years sales experience (NOT in the retail sector)

• Demonstrated track record of new client acquisition 

• Creativity and enthusiasm; ability to operate independently and proactively request or generate the resources needed for success

• English fluency, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

• Flexible availability during standard business hours from EST to PST, M-F

• A high degree of professionalism and discretion

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working in startup environments a big plus

• Experience using web-based event management platforms

• Sales and/or marketing experience in the technical or educational sectors

• Project management experience

IDEAL & IMPRESSIVE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with software programmers, engineers, data analysts/scientists, quants, or other computational scientists

• Experience with the open source scientific programming ecosystem, specifically experience with Python and the “PyData” stack of tools (e.g., numpy, pandas, xarray, matplotlib)
