About the Role
New LGBTQ bar / lounge / restaurant in Downtown Santa Ana, QUEENS LOUNGE is hiring all positions! Queens Lounge is looking for a reliable, professional, and hospitality-minded Door Host / Security team member to help manage guest entry, check IDs, maintain a safe and welcoming environment, and support overall front-of-house operations.
This is not just a stand-at-the-door position. We are looking for someone who can bring both presence and professionalism while also being a team player. In addition to checking IDs and monitoring the entry area, this role may also help keep the space clean, support servers and runners when needed, and assist with setup and breakdown.
Responsibilities
Check IDs carefully and ensure all guests meet legal age requirements
Monitor guest entry and help maintain an orderly, welcoming front door experience
Provide a visible, calm, and professional security presence during service
Help de-escalate issues and notify management when needed
Remove guests who are causing problems if and when needed, in accordance with company policy, training, and applicable law
Maintain awareness of the front entrance, surrounding guest areas, and overall flow of service
Keep the entry area and nearby guest-facing areas clean and presentable
Assist with light cleaning, bussing, and resetting as needed
Support servers, bartenders, and runners during busy periods when needed
Help with opening setup and end-of-night breakdown duties
Assist with moving light equipment, organizing supplies, or preparing the space for service or events
Communicate clearly with management and team members throughout the shift
Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and responsible alcohol service standards
Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age or older
Valid California Guard Card required
Previous experience in door staff, security, hospitality, restaurant, bar, lounge, or customer service roles preferred
Strong judgment, professionalism, and situational awareness
Friendly but firm communication style
Reliable, punctual, and able to work well with a team
Willingness to help beyond the door position when needed
Able to stay calm under pressure and handle situations professionally
Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays

Understands hospitality and guest experience
Takes pride in keeping the venue clean, organized, and running smoothly
Willing to jump in and help wherever needed
Represents the business well at the door and on the floor
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
Must be able to lift and carry up to 35–50 pounds as needed
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced nightlife environment
