About Us:

Mavericks Dancehall – The Colony is one of The Colony’s go-to spots for great drinks, good music, and a fun crowd. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for every guest — and that starts at the door. We’re looking for a reliable and professional Security Guard / Doorman to help us maintain order, enforce policies, and ensure the safety of our guests and staff.

Responsibilities:

Greet guests as they arrive and ensure everyone is treated with respect

Check IDs to verify legal drinking age

Monitor entrances, exits, and overall crowd behavior

Handle disturbances or altercations calmly and professionally

Enforce bar rules and dress code when applicable

Conduct regular perimeter checks and maintain awareness of surroundings

Work closely with bar staff to manage capacity and ensure guest safety

Contact emergency services if necessary and complete incident reports as needed

Requirements

Previous experience in bar/nightclub security or similar role preferred

Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage high-stress situations

Strong communication and conflict resolution skills

Must be physically capable of standing for long periods and handling physical confrontations if needed

Must be 18+ with any required security or alcohol-related certifications per state/local laws (TABC Certificate is required)

Reliable, punctual, and professional appearance

Physically fit and able to stand for long periods of time

Coachable and willing to learn

In uniform and maintain a clean professional appearance

Punctual and reliable

Strong work ethic

Must attend monthly team meetings
