Responsibilities of the Truck Mechanic include being self-motivated and able to perform each essential duty to the satisfaction of the assigned supervisor. Responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of DOT-regulated trucks and heavy equipment to ensure they are safe, compliant, and job-site ready. Responsibilities: • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on commercial motor vehicles per DOT/FMCSA regulations • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring all equipment meets DOT compliance • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues • Maintain accurate service and repair records • Inspect and maintain brakes, tires, lights, suspension, and driveline systems • Perform mobile repairs in the field when necessary • Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and to safety standards • Work closely with fleet managers, operators, and other team members to prioritize needs • Maintain compliance with required inspections and documentation for annual DOT inspections • Comply with all company safety programs and procedures • Perform other related duties as required and assigned Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and FMCSA standards • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair procedures • Self-motivated, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented • High School diploma or GED equivalent • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record • CDL Class A or B preferred (or ability to obtain) • ASE certifications are a plus • Construction Knowledge and experience preferred Physical Requirements: • Regularly involves extended periods required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, climb on/under vehicles and/or equipment, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds in various conditions (outdoors, in shop, etc.) • Occasionally drive over an hour at a time • Work in cold and hot weather conditions Compensation: $35 - $45 hourly
