    Hotel Engineer

    Description of Position: Maintain the hotel guest areas and heart of house areas in accordance with brand standards by performing necessary maintenance and repairs on the facility as part of a team.

    Pay: Based on Experience, current range (14.00-$16.00)

    Scope of Duties:

    Maintain guest rooms in peak condition by performing repairs as needed.

    · Repairs/Replaces television, phones, clock radios, etc.

    · Replaces/Repairs damaged bathroom fixtures and general plumbing as necessary.

    · Keeps up the appearance of the room, replaces pictures, mirrors, window treatments, touchup painting, etc.

    · Assists with the repairs and maintenance of the building HVAC systems.

    · Able to utilize both power and hand tools in a safe and proficient manner.

    Performs maintenance in most areas of the property to include interior and exterior. These areas include but not limited to: Lobby, Restaurant, Meeting Spaces, Kitchen, Laundry, Bathrooms, Hallways, Grounds, Pool.

    · Repair furniture and decorations as necessary

    · Repair floor treatments- carpet and tile.

    · Maintains/Repairs laundry/kitchen/housekeeping equipment not under contract.

    · Maintains exterior of building and grounds.

    Expectations:

    · Attend schools/seminars to remain current on certifications. Learn new techniques as required by programs. (CPO, HVAC, etc.)

    · Ability to lift (75lbs) and move equipment either manually or with a dolly. Must be able to walk, pull, reach/stretch, push, stoop, bend, etc. to perform tasks.

    · Maintain operating equipment in working equipment by routine checks and repairs.

    · Keeps individual work areas maintained and clean.

    · Adheres to hotel policies and procedures.

    · Attends work as scheduled. Ability to work both weekdays and weekends up to 40 hours a week.

    · Follows hotel grooming and dress standards. Maintains assigned uniform and gear.

    · Keeps immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems and unusual matters of importance that require action as discovered.

    · Attends meetings as required.

    · Prepares reports as requested. Keeps information accurate to allow accurate managerial review and decision making.

    · Performs all actions in a professional, timely and efficient manner. Follows company policies and helps to keep public image of hotel intact.

    · Performs all other duties as request or required to ensure smooth operation of the entire hotel.

    · Maintains safety awareness by adhering to safety policies and is responsible by reporting all accidents immediately. Support all safety practices. Proceed with caution on wet surfaces. Follows all safety instructions before operating any equipment.

    Essential Functions:

    · Essential Functions: Able to communicate with guest and co-workers in a professional manner.

    · Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.

    · Ability to visually check work and hotel areas.

    · Minimum of 30lbs lifting ability.

    · Knowledge of English and local language

    Experience:

    · Hotel or building maintenance experience preferred. Similar trades are considered for position.
