    TITLE: PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

    REPORTS TO: DOUGLAS EMMETT BUILDERS CONTROLLER

     

    SCOPE AND PURPOSE:

    AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE DEB ACCOUNTING TEAM, THE PROJECT ACCOUNTANT WILL WORK ON A FAST-PACED TEAM TO SET UP PROJECTS, CREATE SUBCONTRACT ORDERS, GENERATE MONTHLY BILLING, AND SUBMIT INVOICES WITH LIEN WAIVERS FOR PAYMENT.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING, AS OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

    • SET UP AND ENTER ESTIMATES FOR PROJECTS, AS WELL AS PERFORM ANY PROJECT MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, SUCH AS:

      • PROCESS CHANGE ORDERS

      • PROCESS RECEIPTS ON SUBCONTRACT ORDERS FOR PERCENTAGE COMPLETION

      • CONTRACT INVOICING

      • PROCESS INVOICES AND APPROPRIATE LIEN RELEASES FOR PAYMENTS UNDER THE SUBCONTRACTS

      • RECONCILE COMMITMENTS, PAYMENTS AND BILLINGS UPON CLOSING JOBS

    • PREPARE MISCELLANEOUS JOURNAL ENTRIES

    • PERFORM MONTHLY LABOR ALLOCATIONS

    • PERFORM BANK RECONCILIATIONS

    • ASSIST IN PROVIDING DOCUMENTATION FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL AUDITS

    • RESPOND PROMPTLY TO INQUIRIES FROM SUBCONTRACTORS, VENDORS AND OTHER TEAM MEMBERS

    • PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

     

    TECHNICAL PREREQUISITES

    • ACCOUNTING DEGREE

    • FAMILIARITY WITH JOB COST AND CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTING

    • SAGE 300 CONSTRUCTION AND REAL ESTATE (CRE) EXPERIENCE

    • MICROSOFT OFFICE PROFICIENCY
