    Job Description

    A Douglas J Cosmetology Team Lead is responsible for supervising education and established service systems within the Cosmetology Educator Department. The Team Lead demonstrates and facilitates best practices to both learners and Educators while also creating a culture of continuous improvement through frequent observation and coaching of learners and education team members within the department.

    • Partner with Education Coach in supervisory role of campus Program Educators.
    • Supervise the day to day operations of all campus Program areas, on-site and virtual.
    • Lead the growth, development and consistency of campus Program Educators and campus team performance improvement through on-going observation, coaching and coordination of necessary training(s).
    • Create, maintain and manage campus Program Educator schedule, set forth by the Education Coach.
    • Inform and partner with Education Coach on Educator hiring, recruitment and team forecasting needs.
    • Demonstrate and uphold established service systems and location aesthetics.
    • Model Douglas J service systems and standards alongside industry best-practices to support an exceptional learner, team, and guest experience with high performance results.
    • Deliver expert knowledge of the Douglas J program curriculum and confirm understanding of curriculum for all learner types.
    • Ensure consistent facilitation of practical/written final exam testing as set forth by the Education Resource team.
    • Regularly seek and maintain growth in trade/educator skillset and leadership development.
    • Remain current and knowledgeable of state/government/NACCAS regulations.
    • Fulfill regular Educator responsibilities

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Active Cosmetology Instructor License
    • Minimum 2 years teaching experience at a Cosmetology school
    • Salon experience preferred
    • Previous experience with Aveda products, services and curriculum strongly preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Leadership and role model skills
    • Ability to maintain composure and thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments
    • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
    • Professional image consistent with the Douglas J Image Principle
