We are an entrepreneurial family law and probate law firm that is on track for aggressive growth and we need an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team and work directly with the attorneys to support the team and help clients. We want to be known for helping clients come out of extremely emotional processes feeling as though they are a better person and that they had a team behind them that really cared and fought for them. We are growing fast, and we need a Legal Assistant who can hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done, complete tasks with minimal hand-holding, and will have the foresight to complete tasks that the candidate knows will need to be completed at some point down the line but which may not need to be completed right now. This is a full-time job where you are expected to manage a caseload, so you absolutely must be able to work in the office for 40 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with skill and experience and is negotiable. Our firm offers benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. Responsibilities: • Setting up and maintaining client files through the use of practice management software • Being an integral part of the legal process by drafting letters and pleadings on family law cases, probate cases our law firm handles • Filing pleadings electronically on the Court’s electronic filing system • Interacting with clients, both in person, via email, and over to the phone to assist the attorneys in handling cases • Creating a positive and professional impression and experience for all clients • Being a key team member by supporting the attorneys and other staff members as needed, including assisting the receptionist periodically with some call screening Qualifications: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a law firm or office environment as an administrative assistant or secretary Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products Must be able to type at least 50 WPM Compensation: DOE up to $40,000
