    DoveLewis Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital is hiring full-time and part-time Kennel Assistants. We are currently hiring for swing shifts.

    As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sterile work environment. Tasks will include laundry, garbage services, kennel cleaning, exam room and isolation protocol cleaning, maintaining supply levels throughout the hospital, providing animal care for patients such as walking and providing clean water, assisting with animal restraint, and transporting patients safely from the parking lot to the hospital and back, as well as other miscellaneous tasks.

    A genuine love of and respect for all animals is required, as is an appreciation of the human-animal bond.

    What are we looking for in a candidate?

    • Knowledge of veterinary practice safety measures.
    • Understanding of animal behavior and knowledge of safe animal handling and transport practices.
    • Ability to communicate with co-workers, clients, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Ability to have a flexible schedule and work varied shifts as needed, including holidays and on-call.
    • Experience or education equivalent to a High School diploma.
    • Experience in a veterinary facility preferred.

    Wage:

    • $16-18/hour, with a pay differential for overnight and weekend shifts
