    DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is hiring a full-time ICU TECHNICIAN to join our team.

    Wage: Starts at $26-$34 hourly, plus an overnight differential for applicable shifts.

    As a Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant in our ICU, you will be responsible for providing our clients with a top-notch experience as well as responsible for providing intensive nursing care to patients through compliance with the attending doctor's orders. On a daily basis, you will triage patients, calculate medical dosages and administer medications, place tubes and catheters, monitor and ensure patients' comfort, update clients on their pet's progress, and perform a variety of other tasks. This role requires solid technical skills.

    In addition, as a dedicated ICU Technician, you will record and deliver organized rounds, assist DVMs and Criticalists with patient assessment, treatment and procedures, provide intensive monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized and critically ill patients, induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures, perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.

    Because of our hospital's client-centered nature, this role requires your commitment to providing both patients and clients with the highest standard of care. Your ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment with compassion, efficiency, and flexibility is key to success in this role. THIS ROLE WILL NEED TO FILL OCCASIONAL SHIFTS IN THE ER AS WELL. What are we looking for in a candidate?

    • Minimum of three years working in the veterinary field as a technician or experienced assistant.
    • Strongly preferred minimum of one year emergency or other specialty small animal care experience.
    • CVT or LVT preferred, VTS certification a strong bonus.
    • Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above.
