    Job Description

    Downtown's A&R team is looking for a spring intern for our first ever virtual internship program! The purpose of this internship is to support a busy A&R Research department while learning about the multi-faceted day­ to­ day operations of a rapidly growing publishing company. You will work alongside our VP of A&R Research and assist on an adhoc basis. 

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

    • Researching unsigned writers, bands, and producers
    • Researching songwriter information including affiliations, contact info and potential cases that may be available 
    • Assisting with weekly research reports focused on current charts, trends etc. including but not limited to sourcing through Shazam and Spotify data 
    • Building databases for Research A&R
    • Writer Outreach
    • Collecting data from industry site Nielsen Connect

     

    YOU ARE/HAVE:

    • Comfortable and skilled in both written and verbal communication
    • Someone who has an interest and basic understanding of music publishing 
    • Knowledgeable of the domestic and international artists
    • Skilled in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, and experienced in collecting, organizing, and manipulating large pools of data
    • Confident carrying out projects from start to finish and providing valuable results 
    • Self-starter and diligent follow-up with supervisor 
    • Coding experience is a plus!
