About Downtown United Soccer ClubDowntown United Soccer Club (DUSC) is the most comprehensive soccer club in NYC. Serving approximately 5,000 participants annually in Downtown Manhattan and the greater NYC area, DUSC offers programs for players of all ages, genders and backgrounds. Whether starting out in our mini ballers Classes (Beginning at Age 3), or participating in our highly competitive U23 Men’s or Women’s teams, our professional staff offer programs for all stages of development and interest. About the PositionAs a key staff member, the Communications + Digital Media Manager reports directly to the General Manager and Executive Director. Your main role will be to construct the club’s digital strategy that engages the entire DUSC community, balancing coverage across club programming. This position will be responsible for all things digital at the club (social media, web, other), leaving room for tons of creativity and innovation. Over the past 18 months, DUSC has invested in building a strong digital footprint across tradition and new media outlets – your role would be to continue to build out this space. You will also act as the main liaison between the robust culture + creative soccer space in NYC. We understand that this position covers a ton of ground and potentially could be considered more than one role, however, our club culture ensures that every employee has a healthy work/life balance. Develop and maintain a positive environment for our community to succeed, reflective of DUSC ideals and values. The ‘DUSC Way’
Act as an ambassador for the organization in the community at large
Responsibilities
Create engaging digital content/social media strategy collaborating with the DUSC community.
Maintain and update the daily social media calendar of activities and events.
Create copy, edit, and execute content delivery for social media and marketing campaigns.
Graphic Design for club assets (physical and digital).
Coordinate and direct photography and videography for the club.
Manage the club website.
Create news stories in collaboration with the leadership team.
Digital marketing tasks including publishing digital ads and email marketing.
Digital content strategy and graphic design for NJ/NY Gotham Reserves (only applicable during summer time).
Opportunities to participate in Club Committees.
Ensure communications best practices are maintained club-wide.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Ideally, 2-4+ years of professional experience in a similar field or role
Excellent with Instagram, Twitter, Tik-Tok, and Facebook
Strong Reading and Writing abilities
Strong Time management skills
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud
Novice Understanding of Design Philosophy and Visual Hierarchy
Familiarity with WordPress Administration Tools
Proficient in G-Suite tools
Basic understanding of Google Adwords and Facebook Ad Manager
Understanding of Creative Landscape within Sports
Ideally has healthy relationships with soccer creatives within New York City
Includes photographers, videographers, and artists
