Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused equipment operator to support site preparation, grading, clearing, and material movement activities. The ideal candidate is experienced in operating heavy machinery, works well in a team environment, and is committed to maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and job site safety.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner to support construction, excavation, grading, and land clearing activities.
- Perform site preparation tasks, including pushing, leveling, and moving soil, rock, debris, and other materials as needed.
- Read and follow project plans, grade stakes, and instructions from supervisors or site leads.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs, reporting issues promptly.
- Complete basic equipment cleaning, lubrication, and daily upkeep to help ensure reliable performance.
- Work closely with other crew members to meet project deadlines and maintain workflow.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulations while operating equipment.
- Maintain awareness of site conditions, surrounding personnel, and changing work environments to reduce risk.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a dozer or similar heavy equipment in construction, excavation, or land development.
- Strong understanding of job site safety practices and equipment operation standards.
- Ability to interpret grade markers, site plans, and direction from supervisors.
- Basic mechanical awareness and the ability to recognize equipment issues early.
- Good hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
- Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on project and location.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GPS-guided equipment or laser grading systems.
- Familiarity with earthmoving, roadbuilding, utility, or site development projects.
- Additional equipment operation experience, such as excavators, loaders, or skid steers.

Work Environment
