ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for supporting all accounting and financial related activities. The Accounting Specialist will be a new position to help us with our rapid growth. They will work closely with the Accounting Supervisor and the VP of Finance to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of financial and management reports. The applicant should be detail-oriented, possess a high degree of accuracy and work well with other people.

They are also a self starter who eagerly takes on new challenges and seeks new solutions to old or systemic problems. Fires come up every day, big and small, so we're looking for someone who can calmly and swiftly create positive solutions with a smile on their face.

YOU WILL

• Handle day-to-day accounting transactions, to include depositing checks, recording expenses and posting journal entries
• Processes company payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions
• Ensure accuracy of journal entries to ledger accounts and reconcile those accounts to the general ledger
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on different general ledger accounts
• Oversee and manage accounts payable, company credit cards, and expense reporting
• Assist and support accounts receivable workflows to include communications with internal and external billing customers and update regularly recurring subscriptions and invoices 
• Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports
• Work closely with the team to help oversee audits, tax, and work with external accountants
• Ad hoc reporting as required

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS

• 2-3 years experience in accounting preferably in technology focused or startup companies
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 
• Experience with NetSuite and/or Salesforce 
• Proficiency in MS Office and G-Suite
