STARTING SALARY $55,000 AND THEN BASED ON YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
POSITION TO START IMMEDIATELY
THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL IS ALSO THE SCHOOL’S ANCILLARY VISIBLE LEADER AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPPORTING THE PRINCIPAL IN ENGAGING KEY CONSTITUENTS – STUDENTS, STAFF, PARENTS/CAREGIVERS, AND COMMUNITY – TO ASSIST IN THE CREATION OF A SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT THAT EMPOWERS STUDENTS TO BE LIFELONG LEARNERS.
THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL ASSISTS THE PRINCIPAL, AS DIRECTED, IN THE ACADEMIC, ADMINISTRATIVE, AND OPERATIONS OF THE SCHOOL.
WORK WITH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP TO DRIVE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK AND FOCUS AT SCHOOL I.E. PROJECT BASED LEARNING, BLENDED LEARNING, FLIPPED CLASSROOM, AND COMMUNITY BASED MENTORSHIPS
WORK WITH TEACHERS TO IDENTIFY NEEDED SKILLS/TECHNIQUES AND USE OBSERVATIONS AND FEEDBACK TO STRENGTHEN SKILLS AND TEACHING TECHNIQUES
CONDUCTS CLASSROOM WALKTHROUGHS WITH WRITTEN FEEDBACK AND FORMAL EVALUATIONS
ASSISTS THE PRINCIPAL IN EVALUATING SUPPORT STAFF
LEAD ACADEMIC PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
IDENTIFIES AND DISAGGREGATES CRITICAL DATA, SUCH AS GRADES, TEST SCORES, ATTENDANCE, PROMOTION RATES, GRADUATION AND POSTSECONDARY ENROLLMENT RATE WITH GUIDANCE COUNSELOR
BE FAMILIAR WITH BRIGHT FUTURES SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS & CAMBRIDGE DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS
ASSIST IN THE CREATION OF THE MASTER SCHEDULE, STUDENT SCHEDULES, SCHEDULE CHANGES, AND SUBJECT SELECTIONS WITH GUIDANCE COUNSELORS AND PRINCIPAL
CREATE AND REINFORCE POSITIVE SCHOOL CULTURE
POSITIVELY CONTRIBUTE TO STAFF MEETINGS, INCLUDING SUBJECT AREA MEETINGS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT MEETINGS
MAINTAIN RESPECTFUL, PRODUCTIVE COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH STUDENTS, FAMILIES AND COLLEAGUES
BE ACTIVE IN SCHOOL COMMUNITY AND EVENTS- ATTEND FAMILY AND SCHOOL EVENTS AS NECESSARY
FACILITATES SAFE, SUCCESSFUL AND EFFICIENT DAY TO DAY SCHOOL OPERATIONS
RECOMMENDS, ADMINISTERS AND ENFORCES BUILDING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES RELATED TO BEHAVIOR, DISCIPLINE, AND LEARNER PROGRAMS.
MONITORS THE STANDARDS OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF MEMBERS BY DEVELOPING/MAINTAINING A POSITIVE CLIMATE THAT ENCOURAGES ORDERLY CONDUCT BY STUDENTS
PLANS AND IMPLEMENTS PREVENTIVE DISCIPLINARY MEASURES I.E. POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INCENTIVES, BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT PLANS, DRESS CODE, TARDY INCENTIVES, ATTENDANCE COMPETITIONS, ETC.
EXERCISES APPROPRIATE LEADERSHIP IN PROCESSING STUDENT BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS INCLUDING ACCURATE RECORD KEEPING OF INFRACTIONS AS WELL AS COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS AND STAFF.
RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPLEMENTATION AND FACILITATION OF STUDENT SAFETY SCHOOL WIDE TO INCLUDE LOCKDOWN AND FIRE DRILL PLANS.
RESPONSIBLE FOR SCHOOL CALENDAR I.E APPROVING, SCHEDULING, AND MANAGING ALL ON CAMPUS EVENTS AND SCHOOL RELATED PROGRAMS
ATTENDS SCHOOL-RELATED ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS TO OVERSEE STUDENT BEHAVIOR AND ACHIEVEMENTS
ENSURES SCHOOL CALENDAR IS UP-TO-DATE AND COMMUNICATES IMPORTANT DATES TO ALL STAKEHOLDERS
MANAGES AM AND PM CARLINE AND SCHOOL-WIDE DUTY ASSIGNMENTS
WORKS WITH FACILITIES AND CAMPUS COORDINATOR TO ENSURE CUSTODIAL AND OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES ARE PROVIDED WHEN NEEDED.
PERFORMS SUCH OTHER TASKS AND ASSUMES SUCH OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AS THE PRINCIPAL MAY FROM TIME TO TIME ASSIGN.
