Job Description
For over 20 years, Dr. Sam Shay, DC, IFMCP, devoted his life to health and science, learning how to heal himself by cross-training across multiple health disciplines and functional medicine, now using the same principles with his online clients.
He has dedicated his life to alleviate physical, biochemical, and emotional suffering and help others reach the highest human potential and creativity. He crossed-trained extensively and uses advanced functional lab testing and integrative coaching to collaborate with you to help you achieve your health, wellness, longevity, and high-performance goals.
The Marketing Assistant role will:
streamline and distribute the clinical wisdom from Dr. Shay's years of experience in creative and systematized ways, and
help drive sales of aligned clientele through marketing outreach activities.
On average, about 10-15 hours per week will be required, with potentially double those hours during the initial 1-2 month learning curve and set up together. It's a great opportunity to get familiar with how Dr. Shay does business and interacts with clients, exposure to the new and existing extensive business systems, and to help you grow your experience, too.

UPCOMING MARKETING PROJECTS
BLOG CONTENT DISTRIBUTION
- Blog Post Creation
- Parse previous newsletter content into blog posts (we have dozens of newsletters already written that need to be converted into blog posts)
- Each blog will include an invitation to an evergreen webinar opt-in, discovery call, or ebook
- Ensure Blog Visibility Rotation on Website (podcast carousel updates)
- Build in industry keywords SEO keywords to make blogs searchable
SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT
- Posting 2-3x/week in a staggered manner via a content scheduler to (e.g. MeetEdgar): Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube (video storage)
- Setup social media content scheduler
SETUP EVERGREEN WEBINAR SYSTEM
- Landing Page Creation (InfusionSoft)
- Create copy
- Setup campaigns
- Test campaigns
- Build invitations into ebooks & website
WEEKLY NEWSLETTER BUILDOUT
- Pull content together by topic
- Include podcast, summit, ebook, webinar invitations
- Work with Business Manager to review content going out to the list
- Update newsletter tracker with performance stats
EBOOK REDESIGNS
- Carry out the conversion of upgraded ebook template created by Business Manager
- Drive more ebook opt-ins
CULTIVATE NEW AND EFFECTIVE PROMOTIONAL MARKETING ACTIVITIES
- Design Lead Magnets, images for newsletters, etc.
MARKET RESEARCH PODCAST & SUMMIT OUTREACH
- Willingness and ability to professionally reach out to aligned podcasts with consistency and persistency
- Follow-up with podcast hosts for links, photos, bios, etc.
- Distribute podcast information in newsletter, blogs, social media, etc.
MONTHLY WEBINARS
- Basic Design Background (Canva) with an eye for clean design
- Build brand-friendly, engaging presentation slides that convert to new clients
- Optimize flow of content that helps drive conversions/sales at end of webinar
- Monthly Webinars
- Buildout Canva Slides for presentation
- Create Canva icon for each webinar
TRACK AND PRESENT MARKETING PERFORMANCE METRICS
- Ex. How many people signed up for the webinar vs attended?

LIVE CONFERENCES AND SPEAKING
- Researching events to help find clients in person
- Prepare Dr. Sam with marketing materials digitally and/or printed
UPDATING EXISTING COURSE MATERIALS (3 COURSES)
- CustomerHub in InfusionSoft
- Work with the Business Manager and Dr. Sam to update content and branding for each course
- Create project plan for converting courses including video production, branding images, content flow, engagement metrics, etc.
TECH REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with the following online tools:
- Notion (or other project management software)
- Slack
- Signal (encrypted text and phone app)
- Calendly (scheduling)
- Loom
- Canva
- WordPress & Divi

- Must-Have Skills:
- Typing Requirements: minimum 60 words per min touch typing.
- Must know and be proficient (and fast) with basic keyboard hotkeys (copy, paste, etc.)
- Fast and consistent internet connection
- Ability to work remotely
- Flexible work availability
- Have at least one additional monitor connected to your laptop or computer for larger digital working space.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS:
- Apple Computer/Mac (minimum M1 pro)
- 1 TB with at least 300 gb free iStorage on machine
- Minimum 16 GB of ram (really need 30+)
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE WITH...
- Excellent skills for being able to use spreadsheets for tracking (not calculations)
- Note: We are not asking about differential calculus or complicated pie charts. We are talking about basic spreadsheeting to do simple calculations, organization, accuracy, coloring of cells for visual clarity, organization, and basic equations

PERSONALITY/TEMPERAMENT:
- Very fast learner and doesn't need a lot of repeating (clarifying questions okay)
- Self-starting and takes initiative over their assigned projects.
- Example: If you have a meeting with Dr. Shay to discuss marketing, yet an urgent call comes in for Dr. Shay to handle, he puts the zoom call on mute to address the call. During that time you quickly pivot to a project for the duration of Dr. Shay's call instead of waiting for Dr. Shay to be finished with the call.
- Great at follow-through on work tasks and projects
- Extremely Fluent in English with strong grammar skills and punctuation
- Must have Grammarly installed on your computer.

ONBOARDING & TEAM RHYTHMS:
- DURING THE FIRST MONTH:
- One-on-One Time with Dr. Sam: 1 hr on Monday, 1 hr on Wed, 1 hr on Friday MINIMUM for Co-working/Training
- THINGS TO KNOW ONGOING:
- Plan on working 10-15 hrs/week (potentially more hours during the initial learning curve period)
- The person in this role will work directly with Dr. Sam’s Business Manager
- We would like this role to be a year-long commitment
- HIPPA and legal paperwork will need to be signed
- Background check required
- Team Meetings are on Fridays mornings
- We are a small and mighty team
- BUSINESS GOAL: With this position, our metric of success is to see consistent client generation of two or more new paying clients per week
