    SUMMARY : WR has an opportunity for a Drafter, Lead to create and revise technical drawings using various equipment and software for inclusion in documentation or for fabrication or design purposes.


    Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Under minimal supervision; use computer-aided software to develop drawings and schematics based on layouts, sketches, or redlines.
    • Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of machine and products.
    • Review technical drawings for accuracy and completeness.
    • Develop properly constrained 3D models of complex assemblies.

    Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

    • Associates degree in Drafting or related scientific discipline; OR completion of formal resident trade school or apprentice program in drafting.
    • Autodesk Certified Professional in Inventor for Mechanical/Electrical Design or in AutoCAD for Design and Drafting certification preferred.
    • Six (6)+ years of experience as a drafter preparing mechanical engineering drawings, cable drawings, wiring diagrams, and illustrations using AutoCAD for shipboard electronics systems or equipment.
    • Five (5) years of experience drafting/illustrating in the electronics field, to include:

    o computerized drafting applications

    o digital imaging techniques

    o use of AutoCad/Inventor or similar software

    o plan and prepare graphic presentations of complex items

    • Experience with DoD processes and procedures.

    Requirements

    • Ability to work a retail schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Interior design or sales experience/knowledge a plus but not required.
    • Physically able to be on your feet and move throughout our showrooms over an 8-12 hour work day.
    • Ability to maintain emotional composure in a professional business setting with customers, peers and management.
    • Strong work ethic and dependability a must
    • General computer proficiency
    • Professional dress required

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    Work performed in a store environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopies and fax machines. Use of personal cell phone for customer contact and follow up and personal computer tablet for room sketching. Regularly required to view, see, manipulate and handle product to demonstrate to customers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee continuously walks or stands on the store’s showroom floor. Stands for extended periods of time. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and required to lift and carry small items up to 30 pounds, such as lamps, etc
