Electrical Drafter

Position Summary
This entry-level Electrical Drafter role offers the opportunity to support electrical infrastructure projects by creating detailed CAD drawings and assisting engineers and designers with project development. The position includes hands-on experience with AutoCAD 3D and MicroStation, field walkdowns, and coordination with vendors and contractors, while providing on-the-job training and a flexible hybrid work schedule in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Job Function
- Create detailed electrical design drawings and CAD documentation from engineering input and project specifications
- Develop scaled master sketches showing proposed installations in relation to existing infrastructure
- Use AutoCAD 3D, MicroStation, and other CAD tools to support project deliverables
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, vendors, and construction contractors
- Participate in facility walkdowns and field data collection
- Manage multiple drafting assignments and priorities
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree with coursework in electrical drafting, or equivalent technical experience
- Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Design preferred
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation preferred
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Ability to visualize components in three dimensions
- Understanding of design techniques and technical drawing principles
- Strong organizational and communication skills
