We have an immediate opening with our Middleton area financial services client for a full-time Audit Staff Accountant. In this role, you will work closely with managers and partners to help support their clients, and assist in performing audits for nonprofits and local governments. This is an outstanding opportunity to develop professionally in both nonprofit and governmental auditing!
Responsibilities
- Assist with assigned client audits
- Review and compile areas in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by supervisor
- Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated efforts, fraud or non-compliance with laws and regulations
- Establish and maintain effective client relationships through regular communications, including on-site visits
- Represent the firm and promote its image at a variety of events throughout the year (such as networking, vendor conferences, client events and college career fairs)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Prior experience in public accounting preferred, but not required!
- CPA eligible (150 credits) preferred, but not required!
- CPA certification is desired, but not required!
- Excellent team skills, positive attitude, and high ethical standards
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
- Commitment to quality and timely completion of work
- Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office and various tax and accounting software including CCH products, QuickBooks products, and research tools
