    Location: Liverpool, NY (Must have the Ability to commute/relocate)

    Compensation: $ 60.00/hour

    Job Summary: We are looking for a Physician Associate (“PA”) to join our team! The PA will provide direct patient care in a pediatric urgent care setting. As a team, they will help treat various injuries, illnesses, and diseases in patients ages newborn - 20 years old. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for caring for pediatric patients, and the ability to multitask independently and on a team. Additionally, candidates must relate and connect with the pediatric population and possess the necessary communication skills to explain diagnosis/treatment plans to children and their families.

    What You'll Do:

    ● Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.

    ● Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies, interpreting test results.

    ● Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.

    ● Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.

    ● Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; discussing family planning; providing counseling emotional problems of daily living and long-term mental health; promoting wellness and health maintenance.

    ● Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.

    ● Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

    ● Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

    ● Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

    ● Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.

    ● Develops health care team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.

    ● Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    What You'll Need:

    ● Treats from newborn to 21 years of age, plus the families ● Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and interact appropriately with patients and families. ● Demonstrates growth and development expertise. ● Ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs. ● Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, and patients/families. ● Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment. ● Effectively manage multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment. ● Demonstrate critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care. ● Good clinical judgment. ● Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and lead others in acceptable standards of practice. ● Mobility and visual manual dexterity. ● Must be a graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA). ● Current New York State Physician Assistant certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). ● Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to acquire certification before the first day of employment. ● Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or ability to acquire certification before the first day of employment. ● Current AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or ability to acquire certification before the first day of employment. ● Drug Enforcement Agency registration number (DEA) ● Experience as a physician assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. ● Minimum of 2 years' experience working with the pediatric population. ● Must be willing to submit to background check
