Position: SHEETMETAL MECHANIC SR. Location: Indianapolis, IN

Overview: The Senior Sheet Metal Mechanic, with 3+ years of experience, is responsible for demonstrating high proficiency in all minor through major repairs, modifications, Engineering Authorizations (E.A.s), with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complex Repair Layout: Laying out more complicated repairs for pressurized fuselage skins, primary structure, floor beams, shear ties, circumferential frames, etc.
• SRM Expertise: Excellent understanding of SRM repairs, process flow, and terminology.
• Blueprint and Drawing Skills: Ability to read S/M prints and drawings.
• Collaboration: Assists/works with level III structures technicians.
• Self-Sufficiency: Capable of performing job functions with minimal questions.
• Maintenance Check Understanding: Basic understanding of aircraft milestones and maintenance check flows.
• Fabrication Skills: Able to form complicated parts with joggles, curves in annealed material. Proficient in locating and reaming precision holes/counter sinks in thicker gauge structure and parts.
• Specialized Techniques: Able to roto-peen (flap peen) forgings and castings.
• Precision Measurement: Ability to use precision measuring equipment on complicated geometric parts.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• 3+ years of recent sheet metal and structural repairs in a heavy maintenance or Regional Jet environment.
• Prior experience on Boeing 737 highly preferred.
• Must possess the minimum required tools.

Miscellaneous:

• Candidates must report on the first day with 2 forms of acceptable identification to verify employment eligibility.
• Hands-on assessment on day 1 of reporting.
