Position: SHEETMETAL MECHANIC SR. Location: Indianapolis, IN
Overview: The Senior Sheet Metal Mechanic, with 3+ years of experience, is responsible for demonstrating high proficiency in all minor through major repairs, modifications, Engineering Authorizations (E.A.s), with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complex Repair Layout: Laying out more complicated repairs for pressurized fuselage skins, primary structure, floor beams, shear ties, circumferential frames, etc.
- SRM Expertise: Excellent understanding of SRM repairs, process flow, and terminology.
- Blueprint and Drawing Skills: Ability to read S/M prints and drawings.
- Collaboration: Assists/works with level III structures technicians.
- Self-Sufficiency: Capable of performing job functions with minimal questions.
- Maintenance Check Understanding: Basic understanding of aircraft milestones and maintenance check flows.
- Fabrication Skills: Able to form complicated parts with joggles, curves in annealed material. Proficient in locating and reaming precision holes/counter sinks in thicker gauge structure and parts.
- Specialized Techniques: Able to roto-peen (flap peen) forgings and castings.
- Precision Measurement: Ability to use precision measuring equipment on complicated geometric parts.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 3+ years of recent sheet metal and structural repairs in a heavy maintenance or Regional Jet environment.
- Prior experience on Boeing 737 highly preferred.
- Must possess the minimum required tools.
Miscellaneous:
- Candidates must report on the first day with 2 forms of acceptable identification to verify employment eligibility.
- Hands-on assessment on day 1 of reporting.
