Draslovka – North and South America – HR Business Partner
Draslovka Mining Solutions is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our HR Team! HRBP will manage the functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and ensuring compliance to company policies and practices.! This position will report directly to the Director of HR and be located in our Memphis, TN location.
The HRBP will serve as an independent contributor while executing, developing, and implementing HR strategic initiatives to support employees of Draslovka at the Memphis site, as well as oversee HR activities in Canada, Mexico and Chile. The HRBP will be responsible for:
- Collaborate with leadership in the effective implementation of people related programs, such as recruitment, onboarding, learning & development, performance management, and employee relations.
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Serve in a responsive manner to employee relations issues and managing conflict in varying situations such as performance coaching or dissatisfied employees; and directing employees to the appropriate resources for additional support, as needed. Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Work hand in hand with legal, internal and external on a variety of employment litigation matters.
- Responsible for ensuring site leaders understand and consistently adhere to the CBA with the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco and Grain Millers Local 352G, manage grievance process and serve as key member on company negotiation team.
- Manages the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital
- Oversee and manage a performance management system that drives high performance
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs. Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Participate in and drive programs that identify and develop current and future state skill requirements for non-exempt wage, non-exempt merit, and exempt employees.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management, EEOC, AAP reporting
- Implement and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization
- Build a strong communication plan which promotes a positive working climate.
- Develop and implement an internal culture in support a culture that fosters, develops and sustains a working environment which promotes efficiency and productivity. Nurture a positive working environment
- Provide coaching and support to leadership regarding workforce planning, culture development, organizational policies & procedures, and communication of key initiatives.
- Work with HR Director and team to maintain an adequate, competitive and market-driven compensation system which guarantees the attraction & retention of high-quality people motivated to achieve and sustain business results.
- Review the personnel administration systems in order to maintain strict employee data control.
- Proactively seek new ways of doing things to deliver improved business results and effectively lead organizational change.
Required Skills/Experience/Education:
- BS/BA Human Resources or 5-10 years applicable education and experience.
- People oriented and results driven
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
