  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Responsible for promoting a safe IIF culture, and effective and efficient installation of underground and overhead services and metering equipment, as well as, maintenance and restoration to the distribution system.

    Primary Duties:

    • Responsible to promote a safety culture by leading, modeling and coaching behaviors consistent with IIF (Incident and Injury Free). Ensure weekly and monthly safety meetings are held; Monitor to ensure all members complete compliance training/certifications.
    • Serving in a supervisory capacity, position is responsible for promoting a safe IIF culture, effective and efficient construction, maintenance and restoration of service to overhead and underground distribution systems.
    • Responsible for construction and maintenance of overhead and underground service systems.
    • Ensures all work is performed according to approved construction Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Coordinates with Scheduler crew activities related to daily ops assignments; Coordinates with Scheduler the installation and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution systems; Assists DCC and/or Scheduler during service restoration.
    • Ensure team meets expectations for customer satisfaction and customer complaints are resolved in a timely manner.
    • Organizes assigned manpower, material and equipment for efficient utilization to maximize productivity.
    • Directs activities of members assigned to his/her work group, assuring safe and correct completion of job assignments: Advises Scheduler of assignments according to appropriate skill level of members; Advises crews of various approved work methods and operating practices and assures that these procedures are followed; Responsible for quality assurance associated with all aspects of daily activities.
    • Assures compliance with environmental issues and regulations within the distribution system.
    • Verifies accuracy of associated computer work required to complete job assignments.
    • Determines and specifies point of service attachments, inspects customer service entrances and meter loops.
    • Maintains thorough knowledge of applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Maintains a positive working relationship with all departments of the company to assure timely and efficient efforts relating to the construction, maintenance or restoration of service to customers.
    • Projects a positive company image by maintaining a good appearance and working relationship with all customers.
    • Manage work to ensure efficient operation and maximum utilization of manpower and equipment: ensure efficient and productive coordination of work.
    • Assess jobs to determine appropriate crew size.
    • Communicate any changes in capacity and scheduling issues with supervisor.
    • Ensure team members understand the work.
    • coordination process and their role within the process.
    • Review completed job packet to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and attached.
    • Drive good decisions to minimize customer complaints.
    • Manage performance and development of members; Lead, motivate, coach, develop, and influence others positively while fostering a team environment; Provide fair and accurate evaluations and performance reviews of direct reports and ensure work observations and performance reviews are fair and thorough; Provide constant feedback to team members on their current level of performance and opportunities to improve; Understand the goals of team members and provide input on ways to achieve a desired career path; Address and resolve concerns escalated by members of the work group.
    • Ensure the effective management of cost performance: assist in preparation and monitoring of budgeting and expenses; manage the capital tool budget for the work group; manage and approve time.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma/GED And 5 years of top Journey Lineman experience, .
    • 5 years directly related Service experience (e.g., Metering, Voltage Regulation, Troubleshooting, and Line and Substation Switching);.
    • Valid State Drivers License.

    Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Demonstrated leadership in IIF (Incident and Injury Free) culture.
    • Ability to read, understand and follow Construction Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs) and engineering job estimates.

    • Demonstrated ability to assume a supervisory role in adhering to construction standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Coordination Process and all guidelines associated with Power Delivery.
    • Demonstrated ability to enlist the cooperation of others in performance of service, restoration and / or construction work in a variety of working conditions.
    • Demonstrated ability to read, understand and follow the National Electric Safety Code.
    • Ability to organize manpower, material and equipment for efficient and effective utilization.

    Working Conditions:

    • Requires travel to various job sites and facilities within the OG&E service area.
    • Required to work in both an office environment and outside weather conditions.
    • May be required to work non-standard work schedules including availability for emergency response.

    FINANCIAL

    • Ensure that goals will be met through planning with Store Manager on the organization of labor, inventory, and finances for short and long-term success
    • Meet or exceed financial targets through partnership with Store Manager
    • Review and monitor the Loss Prevention program to protect the company’s inventory and assets in partnership with Store Manager
    • Review financial documentation (invoices, costs ) for accuracy
    • Monitor and make appropriate adjustments to scheduling to achieve labor cost in partnership with Store Manager

    DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS

    • Ensure all merchandising and pricing guidelines are followed
    • Ensure store is clean and presentable and relay any maintenance issues to Store Manager
    • Execute merchandising programs and track results
    • Manage communication (mail, email, voicemail)
    • Maintain inventory levels, as well as inventory ordering and receiving
    • Respond to all customer complaints
    • Attend OHS and LP meetings and training sessions
    • Actively aim to increase and share industry knowledge
    • Develop relationships with store stakeholders
    • Set daily tasks for the store
    • Review flyers, upcoming event and promotions; execute appropriately

    REGULATORY ADHERENCE

    • Ensure that OHS, LP, ProServe/Serving It Right/TAP or Rserving and other regulatory requirements and procedures are implemented and adhered to
    • Participate in health inspections, audits and required corrective actions
    • Maintain First-Aid, LP and OHS Training
    • Maintain ProServe/Serving It Right/TAP or Rserving and ensure employees maintain ProServe/Serving It Right/TAP or Rserving
    • Ensure AGLC/BC LRS/AK ABC Board and other government guidelines are met

    WORK EXPERIENCE – REQUIRED/PREFERRED

    • Minimum, 2-years’ experience in retail environment
    • Minimum, 2-years’ supervisory and/or management experience (preferred)

    EDUCATION – REQUIRED/PREFERRED

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • ProServe/Serving It Right/TAP or Rserving Certification
    • First-Aid Certificate is considered an asset
    • Training in wine/beer/spirits (preferred, not required)
