    We are currently recruiting for a Branch Manager based out of our Johnson City, NY location.  Based on the branch size, the Branch Manager is responsible for direct and indirect supervision of all departments, including counter sales, inside sales, warehouse/deliver, quotations/projects and operations.    SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE 

    • Directs the sales activities of the branch. 

    • Develops and maintains good customer relations, to promote Cooper Electric as the vendor of choice. 

    • Continuously acquires and develops product and technical knowledge to assist sales team and customers with proper selection and use of products. 

    • Trains personnel on appropriate delivery of customer service and extending branch resources to promote quality distributor services to our customers. 

    • Oversees decision making and resolution of customer complaints and involves vendors or other internal departments as needed for prompt handling and follow up. 

    • Continuously looks for sales leads and prospective customers, based on business directories, involvement in industry events, trade shows, and other viable sources. 

    • Makes joint calls with sales team, to existing or prospective customers to assist in building relationships and gaining new leads. 

    • Follows Company credit and return policies.

     

     MARKETING AND VENDOR RELATIONSHIPS 

    • Promotes and supports company-wide product promotions by displaying or demonstrating products, promoting uses and saleable features to customers. 

    • Cooperates with vendors, manufacturers and co-workers to build a team approach and to promote a positive work environment. 

    • Develops and maintains professional relationship with vendors and other business partners. 

    • Maintains counter showroom with clean, organized display areas to enhance presentation and promotion of company products.

     

     HUMAN RESOURCES & EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT 

    • Interviews and hires to fill open or new positions, following company policies and procedures and complying with legal requirements. 

    • Develops employee potential, by using coaching skills and creating individual training plans. 

    • Evaluates employee performance and compensation on a regular basis, following company procedures. 

    • Enforces company policies, recognizes personnel problems, and takes corrective action, applies appropriate employee counseling and discipline. Follow company guidelines to achieve impartial objectives and fairness.

     

    MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP 

    • Represents the company’s business interests at all times, in a positive and professional manner, by conducting business transactions and communications in a fair and ethical manner. 

    • Complies with all Company policies, and supports corporate department procedures, such as, Credit, Pricing, Accounting, Operations and HR. 

    • Assigns or delegates job duties necessary to run a smooth and efficient branch operations and facility, with minimal use of overtime. 

    • Responsible for the productivity, quality of work and morale of staff. 

    • Seeks assistance, guidance or decision-making from upper management, when necessary. 

    • Requires daily use of internal email/and other communication systems to keep current in job knowledge, with changes in company business policies or practices, and to ensure timely receipt of information to resolve customer problems or to provide internal/external follow-up. 

    • Responsible for internal/external communications within the branch, ensuring appropriate content, tone and timely delivery of necessary company communications. 

    • Set the example of a positive attitude with employees and peers. 

    • Create an atmosphere that represents a passion for customer service.

     

      

    OPERATIONS 

    • Responsible for presenting a good public image of our company by maintaining building interior/exterior, vehicles and equipment, with a clean and neat appearance and in proper working condition. 

    • Creates and maintains a safe working environment for employees and complies with company and legal safety rules and regulations. 

    • Responsible for safeguarding assets of branch, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Equipment & Cash.

     

     BUDGETING 

    • Successfully operates branch within budget forecast, meeting or exceeding profitability goals, reaching inventory turns and controlling overhead expenses. 
    • Develops and executes a sales plan to increase market share, grow sales and increase gross margins.

     

    The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of electrical products and applications, and will be highly skilled in selling products, service, negotiating sales, pricing and terms.  The ability to communicate effectively and maintain strong customer service skills and inter-personal communication skills is required. A minimum of 4 years of industry related experience, such as, product, sales, purchasing, project or combination of experience and training in one or more areas.  A minimum of 2 years management experience preferred.
