    We are currently seeking a Director of Corporate Communications to work collaboratively with senior executives to translate their ideas and vision into effective communications that positions Sonepar as an industry thought leader on key strategic priorities. 

     

    STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS AND PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Engage with senior executives and business leaders to develop key messaging, themes/topics, style/tone, target audiences and appropriate communications channels.
    • Provide consulting to key executives and leaders and ensure consistent messaging among the leadership team and across the organization.
    • Research industry and market trends and identify original and compelling themes/storylines to incorporate into executive communications.
    • Identify, write, and edit a broad range of executive-level communications for internal and external audiences globally, including speeches and talking points, op-eds/byliners, letters, management memorandums, client communications and employee-related news and information.
    • Leverage communications to develop related content, including by-liners/op-eds, blogs, white papers, podcasts, and briefing papers, to advance corporate goals.
    • Incorporate and execute multimedia content, including videos, podcasts, and info graphics.
    • Design and develop standards for communications success. Develop and monitor metrics to measure reach and impact of communications and to identify areas of success and opportunity.
    • Ensure alignment and consistency with brand strategy and local execution
    • Create and maintain relationships with key business and trade media that can lead to increased visibility for the company, its key initiatives, and campaigns in market.
    • Manage a staff to drive communications programs, events, and electronic and in-person communications venues, supervising PR, implementing and disseminating communications.
    • Government and Regulatory support (when warranted)
    • Manage company’s online and social media platforms to educate the public through persuasive messaging and promoting brand in the market.

     

    INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS:

    • Provide guidance to HR team on issues and opportunities to strengthen Internal and Employee Communication efforts/plans.
    • Develop employee engagement programs that ensure two-way dialogue within the organization
    • Develop and maintain a dynamic corporate Intranet/Internet

     

    PUBLIC RELATIONS AND AGENCY MANAGEMENT:

    • Direct public relations strategy and act as corporate liaison with key media.
    • Manage crisis communications
    • Direct and manage PR agency
    • Oversee PR agency efforts and develop tracking system to measure results

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an executive communications position, serving senior executives.
    • Demonstrated track record of success in leading a corporate communications team
    • Ability to work with executive and senior management; excellent negotiation, influencing and presentation skills
    • Demonstrated track record of developing original speeches and other communications content on behalf of senior executives.
    • Excellent copywriting skills across a wide range of styles and for multiple channels.
    • Demonstrated success writing executive, client, and other communications for the senior leadership of a corporation.
    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to work independently and to manage team plus multiple ongoing projects.
    • Prior leadership experience in Marketing desired
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite,  Advanced working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint
    • Ability to travel up to 25%
    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communications, political science, journalism, public relations, English, or a related degree
    • MBA highly desirable
