DreamView is looking for a Groom Artist to model fur and hair for e-commerce products as well as human characters. This person will deliver photo-realistic, high-quality hair and fur grooms, and other realistic 3D visual effects. Candidates must have the ability to successfully manage and produce multiple deadline-driven projects accurately, with the highest visual quality.

This is a remote/telecommute position. The studio is 100% virtual and allows the applicant to work ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop hair and fur grooms with direction from Supervisors and Art Directors for Digital Humans, Animated Characters, and e-commerce product models
• Develop intelligent hair and fur setups, that can be highly automated for quick turnaround of high-quality assets
• Develop techniques optimized for various applications: GPU rendering, CPU rendering, and AR models
• Develop an understanding of inter-department pipeline, software and tools
• Work with the different departments (LookDev, Animation, Lighting) to ensure a high-quality final look.
• Develop new tools and techniques for production as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar position working in VFX, Animation or Games.
• Production experience with 3dsMax, Maya, XGen, Ornatrix, Yeti, Houdini, or similar technology.
• Thorough understanding of simulation techniques and technologies relating to effects and a basic understanding of rigging, modeling, and geometry deformers.
• Python, Mel or Max scripting, and development of tools considered an asset.
• Familiarity with various operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows).
• Working knowledge of V-Ray or other Render engines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well within a team and to solve unique challenges independently.
