    Job Description

    DreamWorks strives to introduce and carve a path for Black students in animation. LAUNCH: HBCU Fellowship Program is a talent development program that identifies driven and passionate students across multiple HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) to participate in an 8-week curriculum of various workshops, courses and speaker series that aim to open up pathways for Black students to a career in animation. The goal of this program is to continue DreamWorks’ ongoing commitment to eliminate barriers in animation for the Black community.

    Fellows will build their professional network, attend weekly workshops, and receive mentorship from DreamWorks leaders/creatives. Open to students and recent graduates of HBCUs, this program offers a stipend of $1,100 to all Fellows upon successful completion of the program.

    HOW TO APPLY:

      • Your Resume you should clearly state which HBCU you are attending/attended and Graduation Date (Month, Year)
    • INCLUDE A COVER LETTER IN THE "ADDITIONAL ATTACHMENTS" SECTION ANSWERING THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

      • Can you commit to meeting 90 minutes every week on Wednesdays 2PM PT / 5PM ET from February - April 2023?

      • Why are you interested in pursuing a fellowship with DreamWorks Animation?

    RESPONSIBILITIES: “WHAT WOULD YOU SAY YOU DO HERE?”

    • Attend weekly, online workshops centered on different topics aimed at expanding your knowledge of animation, production, and DreamWorks TV and Feature pipelines

    • Meet regularly with a LAUNCH Mentor to receive guidance & motivation while also identifying career goals and resources

    • Deliver a final presentation/project at the culmination of the program to an audience of DreamWorkers

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: “WHAT DO I NEED TO HAVE IN ORDER TO DO THIS JOB?”

    • Must be 18 years of age or older 

    • Pursuing Bachelor or Graduate degree or be a recent graduate (within six months of graduation date) at a Historically Black College & University (HBCU) 

    • Ability to commit to 8 weeks of this virtual program, commit to attending most, if not all, of the weekly workshops offered and complete a group project 

    • Must have own equipment (computer, headphones, etc.) and stable Internet connection

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: “WHAT CAN I OFFER?”

    • Interest in Feature or TV Animation

    • Solid communication and organizational skills  

    • Knowledge of DreamWorks TV and Feature animation properties and franchises
