DreamWorks Animation is looking for more adventurous dreamers who shoot for the moon. We tell stories about the journeys our unconventional heroes take to make dreams come true. As a growth-minded studio, we pride ourselves on being one of the world’s leading producers of high-quality, award-winning, animated films and series, reaching consumers around the globe. We push to feel more, laugh more, and build immersive new worlds.

DreamWorks creates a diverse array of original content in a variety of formats, delivering compelling stories with unique characters. We place tremendous value on the experiences our talent brings to the table from their own non-traditional paths to success. We believe in frequent communication and that transparency and trust yield the best work. We are a community of artists, technologists, innovators, and creators, who are passionate about animation and also happen to love eating lunch together.

DreamWorks Animation’s commitment to developing talent has never been stronger. Our Trainee Program highlights a vibrant community of dedicated artists who offer a diverse range of multicultural experiences. They bring their passion for animation and problem-solving along with their desire to learn in a fast paced production environment! They contribute to DreamWorks Television or Feature productions by applying innovative studio technology, gaining real world experience alongside award winning artists/leaders, and implementing the training they receive through our robust curriculum. We provide them a program complete with professional development, portfolio projects, DreamWorks curriculum, mentorship, leadership exposure, networking and more.

At DreamWorks Animation, our Storyboard Trainees gain hands-on experience on a Television production while learning from award winning Directors. Trainees are mentored by Directors and Storyboard Artists and are exposed to a comprehensive curriculum taught by industry and studio professionals.

In addition to learning and growing through one on one mentorship and a robust set of DreamWorks artist-led classes, Storyboard Trainees are responsible for storyboard cleanup and revisions on a Television show in production. The Storyboard Trainees will be part of a story team implementing notes to existing thumbnails, rough drawings and finished panels in order to ensure that the storyboards hit the creative goals of the series. In addition to working directly on a story team, Trainees are also responsible for working on and delivering a portfolio project from concept to finish throughout the duration of the program.

The last week of the program allows Story Trainees to showcase their work and their portfolio project to creatives and executives across the TV business. The Storyboard Trainee Program is 12 weeks long and is a full-time, paid opportunity.

The Storyboard Trainee Program is covered by the Animation Guild.
