RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide multidisciplinary Engineering technical support during the design, construction and documentation phases of capital projects.
• Own hardware from concept generation to real world use at the intersection of mechanical, electrical and software
• Implement projects as a mechatronics engineering lead for small to mid-size capital and non-capital projects
• Define scope and alternatives for capital projects and provide engineering support from feasibility, front end engineering, construction, and project start-up
• Design, specify, install and troubleshoot process modifications and equipment for projects
• Communicate with contracted engineers while being able to work individually
• Provide CMR (contractor management representative) support to assure oversight of job execution
• Provide day-to-day technical support to manufacturing operations, troubleshoot upset situations and support maintenance shutdowns
• Investigate, recommend and implement new technology for continuous improvements

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 years of mechatronics or mechanical engineering experience
• Experience with various rapid prototyping techniques, 3D printing methods, and manufacturing processes
• Experience designing and prototyping electromechanical consumer devices
• Experience with embedded electronics
• Advanced 3D CAD modeling skills using SolidWorks or Fusion360
• Microcontroller programming and firmware development
• DFM/ general dimensioning and tolerancing experience/understanding
• Wood/Metal shop experience, shop safety, and best practices
• Ability to be flexible outside of normal work hours on an as-needed basis
• A collaborative approach with varying titles and departments, managing personality types
• Organizational, planning, and time management skills
• Experience drafting, excellent written and verbal communication with a hyper-focus on detail
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Design, or equivalent work experience

PREFERRED

• Tech-savvy with working knowledge of VR and location-based entertainment
• Desktop software programming (Python, C/C++)
• “Whatever it takes to get it done” attitude for the entirety of the project life-cycle
• Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy technology
• Is always dabbling in personal engineering projects outside of work
• Industrial controls and automation
• Familiar with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Experience managing vendors
