  • Responsibilities

    Dreamscape is looking for a Junior Accountant that will have the oversight of the AP operation which includes preparing, recording, verifying and paying vendor invoices for goods and services on a timely basis and responding to vendor queries. The Junior Accountant maintains, analyzes and reconciles accounts payable ledger accounts, financial statements, and reports. You will work closely with the VP of Finance and Accounting to develop, direct, plan and evaluates accounts payable policies and procedures, and ensures external and internal controls and policies are adhered to. The manager oversees the payment process of employee expenses reimbursement requests for payment. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage Vendor Relations and AP disbursements including handling all check disbursements, 1099 and tax-related matters
    • Develop, implement and maintain procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
    • Implementation and point person for Concur Travel, Expense, and Invoice, and integration to QB
    • Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information; ensure the AP accuracy of financial statements; Maintain monthly accruals
    • Ensure that the Concur expense process is clear and efficient, and encourage timely expense report submissions.  Ensure compliance of company employees to T&E policy through Concur
    • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing a high volume of invoice/expense reports; Reviews accounts payable coding and processes requests for payment. Prepares weekly check runs. Prepares daily wires and treasury reports; works in multicurrency
    • Reconcile monthly statements and verifies vendor accounts.
    • Ensure journal entries and account reconciliations are completed accurately and timely according to schedules
    • Manage the preparation and filing of W-9's and 1099's
    • Month-end closing and account reconciliation activities as assigned
    • Provide accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff; respond to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs
    • Assist with the implementation of a purchase order system and build-out payable processes for new lines of business
    • Provide day to day coaching and guidance on policy to employees
    • Serves as a back-up Administrator to payroll its processes and compliance.
    • Serve as a liaison between the company, government and external accountants to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • New grad or 1+  years of accounting experience
    • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field of study
    • Experience using Microsoft Office suite(Excel, Word, and PPT)
    • Experience with all Concur modules (Expense, Travel, and Invoice)  a huge plus.
    • Strong General Ledger skills and account analysis skills
    • Interest in automation and experience with the implementation of new payable systems and processes a plus
