    AS AN EXPERIENCED DEVELOPER, YOU WILL LEVERAGE YOUR EXTENSIVE BACKGROUND IN ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TO ENSURE EVERY DREAMSCAPE EXPERIENCE PUSHES THE BOUNDARIES OF WHAT IS POSSIBLE FROM A VISUAL AND PERFORMANCE STANDPOINT.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Utilizing your technical skills, you will collaborate with game designers, visual artists, audio designers, and other specialists to design and develop best-in-class location-based VR experience
    • Exemplify and promote standards for code, design, development, debugging, optimization, review, testing, and documentation
    • You are the interface between multiple departments with varied approaches to game development. You are responsible for translating creative intent into code tasks, creating and stress testing new components and libraries for the engineering group
    • Understand the intent of the Creative Direction and translate it into actionable descriptions of work
    • Identify technical and developmental risks/obstacles and generate solutions to overcome identified risks
    • Design and implement engineering solutions in many areas of game development such as procedural generation, game mechanics, AI, animation, physics, rendering, localization, and UI
    • Keep up to date on state-of-the-art software engineering methods, practices, and technologies
    • Write well-architected maintainable code with an eye towards performance and re-usability for multiple experiences. Evaluate other engineers' code to make sure it meets the department's expectations
    • Modify Unreal engine, Unity components, and other third-party code when needed
    • Lead the efforts to document and peer review technical designs and code submissions with other software engineers

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong C#/C++ and Unreal engine experience or experience in object-oriented programming, architecture, and design
    • Strong understanding of graphics pipelines, rendering techniques, and graphics-related math
    • Experience with memory management, multi-threaded programming, and multi-player systems
    • Experience writing and optimizing shaders (HLSL, GLSL, Cg)
    • Appreciation for, and focus on, realism and detail
    • Familiar with version control, task-management systems, code reviews, and so forth
    • Self-driven; comfortable working collaboratively
    •  Flexible, proactive, self-starter with a positive attitude (rain or shine)
    • Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards
    • Ability to quickly and independently learn and enhance a large established codebase
    • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize work
    • Must be an effective communicator, both verbally and written
    • A passion for making and playing games with an eye for detail and feel for good gameplay
    •  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or a related area or equivalent industry experience
    • Minimum of 6 years game industry experience with 2 shipped titles on PC or console
