We pursue class actions, PAGA cases, Wage and Hour, FEHA violations, Discrimination, and Harassment cases. You will handle all aspects of a case, from pre-litigation to discovery, deposition, trial, or settlement. Our excellent team of support staff will help you along the way.     JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Employment Law Attorney is responsible for providing claimants with the legal advice, guidance and representation required to successfully win compensation. The attorney will be responsible for handling the case from filing the lawsuit, preparing and responding to law and motion, attending depositions, propounding and responding to discovery, preparing the matter for trial/arbitration/labor commissioner hearings, attending hearings, attending mediations, and trying cases to completion.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must be in good standing with the California Bar Association
    • Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in Labor and Employment Law, including class action claims, PAGA actions, Wage and Hour claims, FEHA violations, discrimination, and harassment claims. A thorough knowledge of the California Discovery Act, including all aspects of discovery and law and motion, is required
    • Working knowledge of Employment laws and procedures
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
    • Able to function with a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy in handling negative or challenging situations
    • Excellent written/verbal communication skills with attention to detail
    • Excellent hands-on computer skills
    • Strong research and analytical skills
    • Ability to multi-task and utilize critical thinking skills
    • Familiar with case management software, Microsoft Word Suite, Adobe Pro, and other legal technology

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare and formulate strategy for the case; draft litigation pleadings; propound and respond to written discovery attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and other case-related meetings; try cases to completion; and settle cases as appropriate.
    • Review and supervise the preparation of pleadings, discovery, motions, court orders, demand packages, and other case-related documents
    • Consistent and timely reading of all case documents, including employer records and personnel files medical/billing records
    • Negotiate settlements for employment law cases
