LaTrae Consulting Group is recruiting a Drinking Water Treatment Operator on behalf of our client in Cohasset, MA. This is a technical, hands-on water operations role supporting the daily operation, maintenance, and compliance of a drinking water treatment facility. You will work closely with plant leadership and certified operators to ensure safe, reliable water treatment.
What You Will Be Doing
• Monitor water treatment plant processes and equipment manually and via SCADA automation; adjust systems to maintain proper operations.
• Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to meet federal, state, and EPA standards.
• Inspect and sample remote pump stations each day as required.
• Operate, maintain, and perform routine repair on plant equipment and support preventive maintenance tasks.
• Track maintenance activities using asset management software and handle general plant maintenance duties.
• Ensure accurate logging and documentation of operating data and lab results.
• Keep the facility clean and organized, assisting with grounds and housekeeping duties when needed.
Who We Are Looking For

Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
•
Experience:
Water plant operations experience preferred.
•
Certifications:
• Massachusetts Grade-3 Water Treatment preferred;
• MA Grade 2 Water Treatment License holders encouraged — training is available to help advance credentials.
• Valid Massachusetts driver license with a strong driving record required.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, operate with independence, and make sound operational judgments.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to work seasonal variations and extended hours as needed.
Schedule & Environment
• Reliable attendance and consistent performance are essential.
• Full time, year-round operation with seasonal overtime opportunities.
• Training period schedule typically Monday–Friday; schedule may transition based on certifications achieved and operational demands.
• Work hours vary seasonally, with extended summer shifts and rotation requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
• $27 – $40 per hour depending on experience and certifications; hourly increases follow certification progression.
