Position Summary
The Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and courteous transportation of participants to and from the Adult Medical Day Care center. This role ensures participant safety, comfort, and dignity while complying with all state regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Safely transport participants to and from their homes and the day care center
Assist participants with boarding and exiting vehicles, including those with mobility limitations
Secure wheelchairs and ensure all safety restraints are properly used (If applicable to the vehicle)
Safely transport to and from medical or recreational events or appointments
Maintain accurate daily transportation logs, including pick-up/drop-off times
Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (fuel, tires, brakes, cleanliness)
Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or incidents immediately
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary vehicle at all times
Follow assigned routes and schedules while allowing flexibility for participant needs
Communicate effectively with staff, participants, and caregivers
Provide a respectful, compassionate, and professional experience for all participants
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to assist elderly and disabled individuals safely
Basic knowledge of defensive driving and safety procedures
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Compliance & Safety
Must pass background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) check
Adhere to all New Jersey Department of Health and Adult Day Care regulations
Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain participant confidentiality
