    Step-By-Step Behavioral Health Services, LLC is a community-based behavioral health organization committed to improving access to quality mental health and psychosocial services for individuals and families. We provide ethical, client-centered care through structured programs designed to promote emotional wellness, independence, and successful community functioning. Our services emphasize skill development, rehabilitation, and supportive interventions that empower individuals to achieve stability and long-term success.

    Schedule: 3–4 days per week | 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM Location: Jacksonville, Florida Compensation: Part-time, hourly position paid bi-weekly.

    The Driver & Life Skills Trainer provides direct services and supervision to individuals participating in the Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Program. This role supports educational, rehabilitative, and care services designed to develop, maintain, or restore skills necessary for individuals to improve Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and function successfully in the community. Responsibilities also include safe transportation and community engagement as assigned.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Assist with the daily operations of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) / Program

    Provide direct supervision and life skills training to individuals served

    Conduct and facilitate structured PSR / Day Treatment group sessions focused on skill development, Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), emotional regulation, wellness, and community functioning, using evidence-based or evidence-informed practices

    Assist with client registrations and assessments using the electronic health record (EHR)

    Assess individuals served using quality indicators and document appropriately in the EHR

    Assist with establishing and supporting treatment plans and skill-development goals

    Ensure progress notes are completed timely manner and reflect progress toward treatment plan goals

    Maintain accurate client attendance records

    Communicate effectively with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, case managers, and mental health staff

    Provide basic health, wellness, and medication education to clients and guardians as appropriate

    Safely transport individuals to approved program activities and community locations in accordance with agency transportation and safety protocols

    Ensure the safety, dignity, and confidentiality of individuals served at all times

    Participate as a team member and contribute to the success of the department and agency

    Perform other duties as assigned

    Other Qualifications

    Must successfully pass a Level II background screening

    Must successfully pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Drug-Free Workplace (DFWP) screenings

    Education and/or Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related human services field preferred

    Experience in behavioral health, PSR, day treatment, or community-based services preferred

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Valid Florida driver’s license

    CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain

    Physical Demands

    The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand, sit, use hands, and reach. The employee may occasionally be required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift to 10 pounds and occasionally lift to 25 pounds. Vision requirements.
